If you think ads against Trump are going to be negative and effective, wait until the attack ads against Hillary Clinton begin.

The attack ads against Hillary will just be preaching to the Republican choir just like attacks against the Clinton's always have. I am just going to repeat what I wrote in an earlier thread because I guarantee you this is exactly how its going to go down.

All this violence at Trump rallies will amount to the most effective negative ads in the general since LBJ's against Goldwater. Either the Hillary campaign or some PACs will show Trump more or less egging them on as he has in in past rallies, then follow up with clips of minorities being pushed, shoved, and punched by the crowd in his rallies. Mark my words, that is exactly what they will do. They will mix those ads up with others where he says some of the most outrageous things he has said and then others showing where hate groups like the Klan endorsed him. Not only that, but they will tar every Republican running for reelection with the same Trump hatemongering.

Not only will it further destroy him with the minority vote, but it will also curb his ability to bring in working class white Democrats as it will shame them into not voting for him (just like with Goldwater).

Take a screenshot of this prediction because I guarantee you in November it will be proven true.

Hillary is a flawed candidate (and Bernie even more flawed), and if the Republican base had sense enough to run a guy like Kasich against her in the Fall, she would probably lose, but Trump or Cruz have no chance of winning the White Home. Demographics alone make it impossible for them as a Republican must win 40% of the Hispanic vote to win in November and neither of them have a chance in hell of doing so.

I seriously doubt it will go like that.

The disruptions of Trump rallies are hugely counterproductive, since they reinforce his original image as a fighter against bullying political correctness. And he had inoculated himself against negative ads by cultivating the image of an anti-establishment crusader. "Of course they attack me! I am the only one who threatens their power!" One tenth of what he already said publicly should have killed his candidacy - it only made him stronger.

I suspect that if the GOP fails to stop Trump, he will go on to a victory in November. Partly because of his populist message and personal aptitude, and partly because Hillary is a terrible candidate, regardless of her ideology. But the electoral map will look exceedingly weird: Trump will capture Massachusetts and New York, while the (real) Republican strongholds like Utah and Wyoming will turn blue.

I wish we could put money on this because frankly you could not be more wrong. In order to win Trump must win 40% of the Hispanic vote. He doesn't stand a chance in hell of doing so. Hillary is a flawed candidate, and could easily be beaten by a candidate like Kasich in November, but Trump or Cruz don't stand a chance in hell of winning the White House due to demographics alone. You have to remember that Romney did far better with the white vote than even Reagan did but still lost. If a Republican can't due at least as well with minorities that Bush did in 2004, they can't win.

I think there's a 70% chance Trump will win.
Call me crazy, but I've been reading some stuff that makes mountains of sense lately.
I think he's a genius salesman and I think we're about to see act 3 of the Trump campaign, aka consolidation.

I don't think Hillary will be able to get a word in.

White people are certainly not the only ones capable of racism, but we are certainly much better at it than any other race.

I don't know. Blacks such as Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and Barrack Obama are certainly comfortable being racists and do it extremely well.

Yes Obama is such a racist, so hard on the poor white man....

You could be right, I just don't think that will be the case. If he does win I just hope he keeps his twitter account. :)

It's my faulty prediction.
Just to remind people, it's not that I want him to win, it's that I think he'll win.

Twitter account will be mandatory. :)

For God sake...blacks can be racist even to other black people...including skin color and politics. Blacks have shown a history of racism toward Asians during riots in Watts. The list goes on and on.

He doesn't blame white cops for racism in Ferguson? He always acknowledges the police forces for their legal actions, never blames the white cops for anything, always speaks of unity while blaming whites for his problems? He hasn't blamed racism for his political problems when his horrid policies are the real cause for his failures? He hasn't denied or even defended the racist comments by his wife?

Open those rolling eyes and see the truth about this idiot.

What do you think?

I phrased the question slightly differently for the actual poll question. I'm specifically asking about racism in the US. I'm not asking if you think only white Americans are capable racism in all the world.

I got beat up in a race riot once.

Of course not, but with current demographics only white racism has any tooth.

It was a graffiti in response to a graffiti.

(Explanation: It is not a zero-sum game. By supporting economic activities that would not exist otherwise (native labor is too expensive), immigrants create jobs for themselves and for others. More specifically, insulate black neighborhoods typically stagnate in poverty and underemployment; diverse neighborhoods, with a good proportion of immigrants, are upward mobile, helping poor blacks to acquire habits and skills needed for steady employment.

You are assuming these Blacks, (and others) actually want to work.

Come on now.
There is such a thing a minority majority communities, where the potential for institutional racism, is just as possible.

I was wondering when somebody would hit me with that rebuttal. Frankly I was expecting the Baltimore example.

Nonetheless, when all the major institutions -- politics, education and finance -- are white dominant, it's implausible to suggest that a white person is at any elevated risk of suffering the barbs of racism at the hands of a minority; because even on the small chance that he does, he has an infinitely greater variety of options compared to his minority counterpart. It's for this reason that white Christians tend to be so cavalier when faced with the question of minorities discriminating against them. Why should they be concerned?

I think that's based on the assumption that all Whites have some type of same mobility options, while others do not.
I can tell you living in various places, from urban to rural, that there are very poor Whites who have few immediate options.

I'm not a huge fan of the social justice theory of absolute racial privilege.

Are you suggesting they don't?

Yes, there are members of every race in the US who would rather live on Welfare, etc. than work for a living.
("Socialism is great until you run out of someone else's money" M. Thatcher.)

Some do. And some don't because they live in the environment with no positive examples (diverse neighborhoods will change it). And some don't and never will - but the same is true for some whites.

I agree w/ the 'some do, and some don't' part...but, a 'no positive examples environment' and 'diverse neighborhoods' are NOT a deterrent, (or an incentive) to work, or not work, it's a personal choice.

Yes, of course, but in real life people - especially young people - need motivation to make certain choices. When every day your immediate surroundings reinforce the sense of hopelessness and dependency and set poverty and idleness as a norm, it's very difficult to start making "untypical choices". Some rare individuals will, but most people get stuck in reproducing the same fruitless or self-destructive behavior.

I sincerely hope that you are right. Hell, to stop Trump, I am prepared to vote for the Democrat first time in my life - and that's Hillary (I would vote for Obama, Kerry or Gore against Trump with revulsion by without hesitation; Hillary makes my hand tremble) ! But I'm pretty sure - from worldwide examples of populist demagoguery and from immediate observations of my surroundings - that Trump is being (still, somehow!) hugely underestimated. The best chance is the brokered convention, after that...

As mobility goes, I'm not an example of one possessing huge amounts of it. I live in a neighborhood in Southern California in which I am almost certainly a minority within a large majority of Mexicans. I also know for a fact that a not-insignificant number of them resent white people. I have myself been called a gringo a number of times by first generation Mexicans. If they wanted to, any number of Mexican businesses could discriminate against me. That said, I still have a near-infinite number of alternative businesses I could patronize that wouldn't give two damns about my crackerhood; and no financial, political or educational institution I can think of would turn me away on the basis of my being white. They are practically all white owned and run themselves.

So as I said, as current demographics go, minority racism is toothless.
