We know that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin can hunt, and even field-dress a moose, but how will she take to poachers on her book sales? Start-up publisher OR Books has announced plans to publish Going Rouge: Sarah Palin An American Nightmare, a collection of essays about the maverick Republican with a title — and cover design — remarkably similar to Palin’s upcoming memoir. What’s more, OR’s paperback tome will be released on Nov. 17, the same day that Palin’s own Going Rogue: An American Life hits shelves — and one day after Palin’s just-announced, first-ever appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s show. (A shout-out to Ron Hogan at GalleyCat for the tip.)
Hmmmm..trademark issues (or something similar - not my area)? I can certainly see that being confusing to the consumer
I see a BIG lawsuit in someone's future. Liable, copywrite infringement. Did they get Palin's permission to use her photo? Probably not.
It's nice to see that the Libbos are still scared ****less of Sarah.
The photographer most likely owns the copyright and if she signed a release there ain't diddly she can do about it from that angle.
Yeah, if........
There are other copyright issues as well. I do think she should sue. I'm not confident she will win.

Well, usually, lawsuits are all about who gets tired of spending money first. Sarah just got a $7 million advance on her book. I bet she wouldn't be afraid to drop a couple, or three million to make this piece-a-crap go away and I'm betting that OR Books don't have that kind of capital laying around.
The similarity to the cover of Palin's book cover is the only issue. Palin's publisher could argue that a customer might pick up the dark cloud nightmare book by mistake. But even that's a stretch since many book covers looks similar and it is up to the customer to actually read the title of the book he/she plans to purchase.
In which case, the attorney for Palin's publisher could argue that people likely to purchase Palin's book are not too bright and a can't read above a 4th grade level.
Thank you F. Lee Bailey. Where'd you get your law degree, Walmart?:doh
Palin is a public figure who gets photographed all the time. A photojournalist would own the copywrite.

If the essays are of the humorous variety, which is very likely because well... Palin is just so funny...in a scary way, then the book would be considered a parody or satire of Palin's book. Case closed, end of story.
Good luck with your BIG legal action...
Still sacred ****less of Sarah, I see. Good to know.

Yeah making fun of Sarah Palin is being scared ****less of her
Talk about your :spin:
If that were the case, the CONS are scared ****less of Gore, Kerry, Clinton, and Edwards. ****ing ******s.
Still sacred ****less of Sarah, I see. Good to know.
That's exactly right. If she was as irrelevant and ineffective as the Leftists claim, then she shouldn't be worth the effort.

Show me how they've gotten near as much attention. Thanks in advance.
Making fun of someone does not mean they are relevant, it means they are idiots.
Oh please CONS can't stop talking about those people even to this day. CONS are ****ing ******s then using your logic.
We all know it's not as simple as that.
Prove it.
