And the "Wouldn't Last Five Minutes in The Purge" award goes to...

Jesus, that guy was unhinged. Should have just parked the car, left her there and gone and got a cup of coffee.

He was screaming like a freaking maniac. I probably would have locked the glove box and gone for a cup of coffee while calling the police. What's the sense in screaming like that over and over and over?

lol, you beat me to it.

So you're the type of person who immediately calls the police to handle every situation for you, before you even raise your voice? The pussification of our society is real.

Reading comprehension is gud. If I had reached the level of raising my voice, calling the police would have been my first option because it would have been clear to me that the situation had thoroughly deteriorated. At that point, we would have been past doffing our hats to each other and wishing each other a jolly good day. I'm okay with a random internet person calling me a *****, though. I'll just have the police take over instead of waiting to see what lies at the end of the path of escalation. There is no pot of gold at the end of that particular rainbow.

You would have left what was clearly an unstable person alone with your car? I must like my car a lot more than you like yours.

I just think it's sad that our society has pussified so far that so many people's very first reaction to any conflict is to get police and lawyers involved before even attempting to settle it like adults. To each his own, I suppose.

Don't ever become an Uber driver.
You: Get out of my car
Customer: ....but this isn't my stop...
You: I'M CALLING THE COPS

So she refused to get out of the car and kept asking what her destination was. No problem. Just drive to the nearest police station and ask for directions there.

If you encounter someone that is trying to ensnare you into breaking the law just to profit off your back, calling the authorities is the smart thing to do. In this case, if he called the authorities and she continued with her obstinacy, she would've ended up jerked out of the car, slammed on the car's hood, and shipped to the police station.

It's fantastically likely that the passenger was goading the driver into making a really bad decision so that she could sue Uber. That's manipulation of the highest order. There is no "settling it like adults" at that point.

If you had been driving her, I think she would have wanted you to bash her too.
oh she most certainly had an agenda, the more he raved the more calm she became in her presentation while spinning the dreidel

she is psycho

I was crossing my fingers for the part of the video when he sends her flying through the air.
I really thought he was going to get out of the car and yank her out I did

god bless whoever that was that approached the car and ended it nicely and quietly..."can I help"...oh yeah you can help :lamo

You would have left what was clearly an unstable person alone with your car? I must like my car a lot more than you like yours.

I'm assuming he had her name and whatnot through uber and yeah they're just cars, nothing really to be attached to.

I could be mixing up my posters here, but aren't you an ex-cop? I think what you're suggesting is against the law.

Yea, you have a point there. He allowed her to get to him and send him into that senseless rage.

So when a taxi or uber driver drops you off at somewhere that isn't your destination and you tell them it's not your destination, you're "trying to ensare them into breaking the law"?

Oh come on, we don't need to know what happened before to judge that bitch. She claimed she was on a hurry, yet she found the time and the composure to take her phone out and tape the man screaming to death for at least 3 minutes, keeping in mind that he was obviously urging her to get the **** out for much longer.
I believe it was the driver that claimed she said she was in a hurry, and yes I would very much like to know the earlier history rather than depend on the yelling of a a guy one second short of going psycho.

But the deal is this:

I drove a cab in what then was 2nd largest city in the country, where modern day taxi cabs evolved (including Yellow & Checker). I've done his job.

This guy did not handle the situation! It's that simple. And situations like this (and worse) will constantly come-up if you drive in major cities. And that goes in spades if you work nights.

If he can't handle this minor situation, he's not cut-out for the job.

I just got through an insurance experience of my own. You'd have to go take a zillion pictures first, then take a zillion pictures afterwards, then have somebody from the insurance agency assess your car, and finally lose your car for a few days while a repair shop fixes the damage. And that's if everything works out flawlessly. That's a lot of stress I wouldn't need.

buddy had lost his mind by then...who knows what went on prior but he'd had it and he couldn't get it together enough to think logically

No, I'm not, but if I send the driver into such a rage and still refuse to leave the car, I'm either too stupid or I have an agenda. You want to opt for the former rather than the latter, fine - just don't tell me the woman in question acted properly.

He dropped her off at the destination.

Not according to her. Instead of discussing what the destination was or how to fix the problem the guy immediately went into an emotional rage and threw a hissy fit. You would've already called the cops before you even attempted to discuss it with her. Like I said, pussification of America. Can't handle even simple verbal conflicts without getting police involved.

Funny, we didn't actually see what got him into such an emotional rage, the video starts with him just screaming uncontrollably while she remained reasonably calm. I'm not seeing any "ensaring into doing something illegal", but maybe your brain is just filling in the gaps.

he definitely had come unglued...however, he still bested her by not grabbing her by the hair and yanking her out...

The guy was clearly not very in control of his temper, so I hope when he settled down he was comforted by the fact that he did, in fact, win a really important battle there.

The video is just the very end of the exchange. Likely the entirety of the experience was aggravating for him and finally caused him to lose his temper when she wouldn't get out of the car at her destination.

She wanted to go the emergency room, so he drove her to the hospital.

I'm not defending the driver's behavior, as it's indefensible; there's just no excuse to allow yourself to come to this. That, however, doesn't change the fact that the woman should've never pushed him to that state, when all he asked her is to get out of his car.

Meh, if she actually damaged the car (don't think she would have as that wasn't what she was after) you could make her life hell suing her and pressing criminal charges. But if you were really concerned you could just park the car and go sit down 50' away and watch it. Just remove yourself from the situation and leave her there. Kinda like telling the kids while on a road trip if they don't settle down you're going to park on the side of the highway and wait till they shut up. Frikken amazing how quiet they get when you actually do that.
