There are going to be countries we can't do business with for a variety of reasons, but we should be concerned when this is the case. It goes both ways. They should care about what we think of them as well and, like us, they should be seeking compromise.

Nationalism seems like it helps your country but it actually hurts more than it helps. We need to get along with our neighbors. If we don't, then both countries need to work on that, including our own. That is patriotism. Assuming we're always right and everyone who disagrees must be wrong is nationalism.

America's international reputation is hardly something to be ignored. If someone doesn't like us, especially someone who used to be an ally, we should be very concerned about this. If we are wrong, then we need to correct. If they are wrong, then we need to continue to engage and see if a compromise is possible.

Its when the US money stops flowing or is reduced then they will hate us....simple concept.
Take for example Germany...the US has proposed reducing our military presents and lo and behold the Germans will now hate us for having to up their military spending to offset our present and having to cut social programs to pay for it and more importantly closing of all the whore house that serviced the US military. Putting a lot of people who service the US military out of work.

America's image always plummets when we have a president seen as putting American interests first and foremost. It happened under Reagan and Bush as well.

Trump did not shut down the country. Trump has been trying to get the country back up and running. Trump is pushing the governors to get our children back to school. responsible leaders should have no problem doing this. We can do online schooling with chat between teachers and students. I have yet to see a kid not walking around with a phone or a tablet. They know how to work and chat on line better than most adults. Reagan actually worked with other countries as well as our allies. Hell even Gorbachev had better relations with America than most other soviet leaders and achieved a sort of acclaim in America, the UK Thatcher was pretty much Reagan’s British counterpart, Germany had more positive views after the wall fell. Bush got that because he had a “were gonna do this and **** everyone else” attitude but Britain and even Canada aided us in our efforts post 9/11. Unilateralism tends to do that. You dont know what you are talking about.
