Am I a Bleeding Heart Liberal?

They feel that they became wealthy because God felt they deserved it.
That's why you hear people on Wall Street say that they are "doing God's work".

total insanity! If you have evidence of that I will pay you $10,000. Bet??

we always need to do it together. Each and every one of us.

Totally meaningless since you do not say whether by each and every one us helping you mean individually ( such as helping an elderly parent] or by supporting crippling and always expanding federal vote buying welfare programs!

in their minds, no one qualifies.
Try acknowledging the fact that those are the folks who are in power in the Republican Party today, because that's a fact.

if it is a fact why so afraid to provide evidence of such? What do you learn from your fear? Your posts are nothing more than over the top fabrications that you have tricked yourself into believing out of some grave problem you have.

When you take resources from one (sans permission) and give it to another you are picking winners and losers.

It is both wrong and evil. First theft of land, then theft of labor, and now theft of votes....Real nice democrat party there.

Have fun starting a go fund me and leave the rest of us alone.

Hmmm that describes the GOP perfectly. Oh wait - I listen to something other than Fox - so it must be fake news, am I right?

The same thing I always do. I willingly contribute my time, effort, resources, or money to help.

Nothing you can say or do can begin to justify stealing the land, labor, or votes of others.

I think you really better check again what the GOP is up to. Really.

It is a sad fact that there are disabled people who can't work, and it would be heartless to just let them die. People differ as to what society should do about it, but most agree we all should be responsible for helping those who are mentally or physically unable to work.

The OP has taken this premise and somehow translated it into the entire liberal - conservative debate! A fine example of sneaky framing!

There are other differences between liberals and conservatives, and the liberals don't always come out the obvious winners.

The sad part is there are so many gaming the system that we can't properly take care of the ones who really need it because we're taking care of all the free loafers.

I don't know about "bleeding hearts"... but to me, it's about pragmatism. I look at what it takes to make an economy run, and the way I see it, it takes people. People working and producing and consuming and investing. As a nation, our 160 million strong labor force is out there competing with China's 800 million and India's 500 million and Europe's 230 million... if we want to stay competitive and keep our position as the world's leading economy, we need all the bodies we can get out there producing and consuming and helping to build our society. We can't be content with letting 10-20% of our population just wallow in perpetual poverty... or just sweep'em under the rug and forget about them. We need to be proactive about addressing the problems of trans-generational poverty and get out there and do whatever it takes to make sure everyone has the opportunity to live up to their potential. But we can't look at people as just some resource to be used up and thrown away when they've outlived their usefulness either... we need to look out for the aged, the injured and the infirm as well. The worthwhile of any society can always be measured by how it treats those who can no longer look out for themselves. If we're going to keep moving forward and keep building that "more perfect Union" that our Founding Fathers entrusted us to do both for ourselves and our posterity, then we always need to do it together. Each and every one of us.

I agree with about half of what you said. The rest is all liberal garbage.

The sad part is there are so many gaming the system that we can't properly take care of the ones who really need it because we're taking care of all the free loafers.

I don't know that there are so many free loafers as you call them but rather millions and millions living fully or partially off of govt housing, food, education, health care, infrastructure, childcare, and national defense. Nowadays, our libsocialists even want free college and free health care for all. That pushes us very much in the socialist direction wherein more and more find it easier and easier to live off the public trough, to increase their eligibility for the public trough, and to let atrophy their interest in individual liberty, self-support, and contributions to the commonweal.

I acknowledge that there are people in this country who cannot contribute to society, either because of physical, mental, or emotional considerations. Am I a Bleeding Heart Liberal?

I also acknowledge that there probably is some welfare fraud in this country. That said, welfare fraud is managed at the State level, and in that sense, National politics is NOT involved. I find that those that vote Nationally based on what they perceive, as welfare-recipients-on-the-take, are misguided. Does that make me a Bleeding Heart Liberal?

Do you like the president?
