Alabama Police Officers Go Mid-Evil On Alabama Student

There was a complaint from another resident, duh..

"Those damn kids were playing music too loudly, lets taze 'em!"

This shows some more of the interaction before the kid got yanked out. The cop was just fine but the kid (and the peanut gallery behind him) was pushing the issue.

Right or wrong a cop who approaches you is going to do what he has to do to be in control of the situation. You can make it easy for him (or her) or you can be an asshole. If you choose to be an asshole you can reasonably expect to get all the lumps you deserve.

Yawn.

Just another video without context.

The cops were there for a reason and the kids weren't letting them get to the bottom of whatever that reason was. Instead of cooperating they decided to play ****house lawyer and somebody got tuned up. I will NEVER have any sympathy for a jackass that is obstructing a cop who is investigating a complaint.

LOL - "video provides no context so the cops were right. F the kids."

The story said it was a noise complaint - what investigation needs to happen? Seems like a reasonable response in a college town where this stuff is as common as dirt is "turn down the noise, kids."

We never bowed up to, defied the orders of, tried to shut the door on or resisted arrest and never got tazed or beaten or shot back in my youth.

Kids today are stupid and don't know how to COOPERATE

If I hear that "are we being detained or arrested?" crap one more time, I will throw up.

Ahh yes, the ol' appeal to authority. Do what the government agents say, or suffer!

Thankfully our Founders weren't of that mindset.

Yeah, Constitutional rights make me sick to my stomach as well.

No, they got tazed and BEATEN for not cooperating.

The only one not cooperating was the cop who was told to leave their apartment. He had no business being in there grabbing people over a complaint. None. No way. These kids got beaten and arrested because Rambo lost his professional mind.

No reason to not go outside [where the officer would feel more comfortable] and discuss this like adults.

That doesn't mean that the cops get to assault people for not respecting their authority. The adult thing goes two ways, and cops aren't acting the part either. I expect kids to behave like kids, but cops wielding the powere of government are not afforded the same. They must behave like adults. It is the government that is limited, not the People.

No, they got tazed and BEATEN for not cooperating.

The officer was not cooperating with the adults by not leaving the property when asked to leave. With all the information we have available at the present moment, how can you claim these officers did not abuse their authority?

I'll bet the neighbors were thrilled!

Thrilled that they saw their neighbors tazed and beat with batons? Yeah that's always fun to bring up at the next potluck dinner. If the neighbors were upset about a noise complaint, the officers only exasperated the situation.

The 'students' thought they were Perry Mason. LOL!
No warrant, no right to enter the premises.
What legal reason did the Officer entering and reaching into a private residence to grab the person.
Again, no arrest warrant, from what I see, no reason aside from the Officer losing it to arrest the man, which came after the officer was inside the residence. He entered the residence illegally. Yes or No??

Yeah, and I bet there was far more noise and commotion outside that building as these cops kept harassing those kids cuffed and abused outside. Great. Good job. Besides, that whole time, in all those videos, there wasn't any loud music playing at the time before Dirty Harry went Robocop on those kids. Seems to me like he calmed down the party and quiet time was restored. That was all he was supposed to do.

Yep, noise complaints are always routine.

First off, we don't know if this is the first time the cops showed up or the last time they did. The one eternal truth of college parties is that if you give the little bastards the opportunity to turn it down you'll be back there in half an hour.

Second, depending on department policy if you see someone drinking that you figure is underage you can and should check for ID. You should also look for the property owner or responsible party and make damned sure they know that bothering the neighbors will not be tolerated.

Third, when the cops are called to investigate a complaint it's their job to figure out if the complaint has merit or not. The kids at the party aren't the only ones with rights, their neighbors have rights too.

Fourth, the kid got yanked out because he was hindering a lawful investigation, not because he was making noise. It's pretty apparent from the video that when he was contacted by the cop he decided to argue instead of help resolve the situation.

So what, some smartass, probably drunk college kids got tazed. Unfortunately, the cops have to do the job their parents should have.

You must have a "rebellious child" issue. I wonder what kid pissed you off so bad to make you wish abuse upon your selected annoyance.

You who always quotes the US Constitution have the audacity to make such a statement.
I am sure you can quote Chapter and Verse where the Officer(s) violated the Constitution.

I don't remember ever quoting the Constitution, but okay.

Cops have a stressful job. The dumbest thing in the world is to make it as difficult as humanely possible for them to perform it.

I know you're pretty young. When a cop comes to your door, cooperate and nothing will usually HAPPEN TO YOU.

Why? Cop comes to my door unannounced.? He better have a damn good explanation. If he gets in the way of my watching college football especially. MOtherwise he will be summarily dismissed. Fortunately I have a top notch lawyer friend.

Isn't it so ironic how that seems to play out around here? The ones who scream and cry about how the gubmint and lib-ruhls don't have any rights at all to keep them from pushing religious beliefs on others, or to have whatever army guns they want, or to allow women's health clinics to actually provide healthcare to women --- but they will be all about state sponsored terrorists attacking any minority, woman, or young'un who steps outta line and doesn't respect authority.

It too sad and sickening to be funny. But the twisted humor is there anyway. I'm sure our European cousins love laughing at these things.

What legality gave the Officer to enter and grab the individual. It was the man arguing his rights. The same as an officer searching your vehicle, you deny them the right, they search but need legal ground to stand upon.after your refusal
He later states, you are under arrest.
An Officer to enter private property must have legal grounds to stand upon. Not just"I am pissed and arresting you".

Then you can sue the **** out of him and the city. Ruin his life raise the property taxes in the community and move away to enjoy your just rewards.
