BBC News - 'Al-Qaeda statement' confirms Osama Bin Laden's death
Basically it just gives me more reason that we need to draw out of Iraqi, Afghanistan, screw Libya, and be every vigilant about Pakistan. I just realized something today too...my pants are from Pakistan.
Why do you have one pair of pants?
Burn them immediately, they were obviously made by terrorists... Because that's what terrorists do... Make pants...
I'll shut up now.
We will be drawing out of Iraq at the end of 2011, no need to accelerate an already planned time table that, IMO, as a liberal, is fair and will work fine. Afghanistan needs to be re-examined. Pulling out in 2014 is absolutely ridiculous. We need to reduce the number very slowly to about 30,000 or so troops, and leave them there in a police presence to train Afghani soldiers and keep things under control. What we are doing right now is nation building, while our economy is barely even recovering back at home.
Sorry most of my pants. Most my pants are Levis and Levis are made in Pakistan...I looked at the tags for some reason today while doing laundry.
Iraq and A-stan....Both Afghan and Iraqi governments (maybe Iraq controls a little bit more) do not control very much of the country and if not for our efforts, the psuedo governments wouldn't last very long.
How much we train the Afghanis/Iraqis appears very immaterial. They aren't very good material and I expect they'll either fall to AQ or degenerate back into battling war lords in a very short time.
Basically, we pull out...they succumb
Isn't that likely to happen whenever we pull out? How can we continue to afford spending trillions in unending war?

That's not necessarily true. Iraq is pretty much in control now for the most part. There are only a little over 50,000 US troops there and they are just in a training/advisory role at this point. Iraq will be taken care of. I can't help agree about Afghanistan though.
Does anyone think that al Qaeda acknowledging bin Laden's death will convince the Deathers that bin Laden is in fact dead? Methinks not.
Iranians may be able to grab power in a few years and make everything we have fought for since 2003 a things of the past ... a new, Iranian dominated Iraq.
Waiting patiently for the right time to strike. Just waiting for the US to pull out
I agree. Let's nation build Iran.

I was surprised to hear about this. I figured they'd deny it, which was why I thought Obama should have released the death photos. This shows that Obama was correct, and bin Laden's death has been accepted without them. Good call on his part, it turns out.
Oh no, soon our pants will declare Jihad against us. Everybody protect your genitals!
I'll be honest, I was kind of iffy on this stuff at first and I guess could have been considered more "skeptic" than a "deather" I think this deather stuff is just something MSNBC made up from a few off hand comments made on Fox News. Obama doesn't gain anything politically for not showing the pictures if anything, he probably suffers from it.
Also correction on my pants. The pants made in Pakistan are JCPenney brand pants. One pair of Levis I was washing were from Mexico..the other was from Columbia..the other was from Cambodia. I feel very indifferent now.
Focus on the tribal aspect. The Shiites own most of Iraq and Iran is defintely helping them.
Iran's big money is on creating Hizballah Iraq (look it up) and they are using 25-30 years of US spec ops knowledge/training in covert tradecraft as well as their special Persian op skills to do it. Iranians may be able to grab power in a few years and make everything we have fought for since 2003 a things of the past ... a new, Iranian dominated Iraq.

So we should sit there forever then? No. Iran knows damn well that if they go and try to annex Iraq, another 1990 gulf war will occur, and Iran will get its ass kicked.
You are entitled to your point of view, however wrong it may be.

So we should forever occupy the middle east? Yes or no answer that.
