After UN veto, Kerry suggests Israel's West Bank foray spawning 'terrorism' | Fox News

This is the final nail in the coffin for an administration that has been clueless on foreign policy so far.
Guess what Kerry there has been terrorism over there well before the settlements started so what is your
excuse now?

This only shows how inept Obama is at handling that area.
It also shows that He was never an ally to Israel.

It also shows that they have no idea where terrorism is coming from.

Kerry has always been a moron.

Wow. Did Kerry honestly think that was going to help?

It was worse when they weren't expanding settlements too.

Point taken, lots of hate. And yes it should be in the I/P forum. Reason I posted the US veto there.

Sooner or later the anti-Palestiners are going to have to get their heads out of their asses and face up to reality.

“The United States acted with one primary objective in mind: to preserve the possibility of the two state solution, which every U.S. administration for decades has agreed is the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians, Kerry said Friday. “Two states is the only way to ensure Israel's future as a Jewish and democratic state, living in peace and security with its neighbors, and freedom and dignity for the Palestinian people.”

Powers said the U.S. used its veto power in 2007 on a similar matter but that “circumstances have (since) changed dramatically.”

One cannot simultaneously champion Israeli settlements and champion a viable two-state solution,” she said. “One has to make a choice.”

Is Powers wrong?

Yes, a possible solution for the conflict involves Israel still holding the major settlement blocks and making land exchanges with the Palestinians.

Obama is an embarrassment. Were he serious about Israel, he would have put in the work at the beginning of his first term and not showed the country the finger a few days before giving back the keys to the house. But Kerry takes his cookie any day.

If you look up "feckless" in the dictionary you find Kerry's picture.

Having followed him for quite a while I would say that he probably does believe it. It is astounding, but so it is, sadly.

This is basically the anti-Israel meme that we expect from this administration at this point.
He views Israel as the same as the US.

We owe something to other people.

And the Trump Administration will be dead on arrival.

I doubt it. The rise of Iran will drive several Arab states into alliance with Israel. They will jettison the Palestinians, whose window has closed. Rejection of the Oslo offer was a strategic error of epochal proportions.

yea because that worked so well in the past.

The two state solution will be dead as of 20 January 2017. The US will move its embassy to Jerusalem.

The two state solution looked great from the green table of the paneled conference room, when Kerry was young. But it was unrealistic even then, if you think on it and has been dead for decades.

BN is like the front page of a news paper, and hint here, sometimes the Israel/Palestinian conflict makes the front page....Now, I know that you libs would like to banish this talk to some corner that is not visited as much as a forum like BN, but you're just going to have to live with Obama/Kerry's inept, outright hatred for our only ally in the ME on the front page....

Are we talking about the same Trump here? The one who almost the entire civilized world has condemned at every possible turn? I predict it's highly likely that Trump will pull everyone associated with him down into the gutters of history.

Is Powers wrong?

Yes.

She conveniently overlooked Israel's proposal under Prime Minister Olmert that would have given the Palestinians virtually all of the West Bank, the Arab neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, and all of the Gaza Strip in exchange for peace. Mahmoud Abbas rejected it, as it did not capitulate to his demands that Israel create a "right of return" for Palestinian refugees and their descendants to Israel. Has Abbas had the minimal courage and foresight to accept that agreement, there would have been a sovereign Palestinian state co-existing with Israel. Had his predecessor accepted similar terms back in 2000, there would have been such a state.

This unbalanced resolution perverts what has happened into unilateral and total blame on Israel. So, yes, she is wrong. She is operating from a basis other than reality.

It is quite possible you will be surprised.
