After pause, this Texas city is set to reconsider banning travel to access an abortion

WHat does that have to do with the right to due process? Which requires probable cause to stop/question/search someone. Has nothing to do with roads.

I know you dont have the answers now, so this should be interesting to see how long you are going to try and flounder along, how creative you get.

So then she's telling the truth. They're get something to eat in another state, whether they get pulled over or not.

Did you have a point here? Or are you just confirming the validity of my reply? :D

Wait...when did he have probable cause to pull the car over? Ya skipped that one.

Is he allowed to pull the car over without probable cause? Please answer, with more than your opinion. And if so, what would his probable cause be?

Why are you advocating the police undermine the law to take advantage of citizens?
You might want to ask someone who has been pulled over for DWB to explain how many excuses cops can come up with to pull people over.

Oh no doubt. They can manufacture lots of things. And try intimidation. That's why I write that women should have "coaching" and other resources.

On the firearm forums, they discuss much of what you described about traffic stops and carrying.

They CANNOT pull her over for no reason. That is a constitutional violation. They will be unemployed if the go anywhere near it.

Why does the right wing have such a hard time with the constitution?
And, even if a woman is pregnant and leaving the state, what proof is there that she is leaving to have an abortion? Such a law would prevent any woman, even one who doesn't know she's pregnant, from leaving the state for any reason. IOW, it would prevent all women of child-bearing age to leave for any reason. If that isn't the most rights-depriving law I have ever heard of, I'd like to see one that is. These laws need to be challenged immediately. I can't imagine even the SCOTUS not striking them down. It interferes with the right to travel, the right of privacy, and discriminates against probably 30% of the entire population (the 30% is a guesstimate).

They can ask whatever they want. They can ask her where she's going, if she's pregnant, whatever the cop feels like asking. The cop can pull her out of the car and see if she if visibly pregnant and then make a determination.
She has the right to not answer.

This is why I keep writing and supporting coaching and other resources for women so that they arent intimidated into incriminating themselves when stopped. So that they are confident in their rights and know what to say...and what not to say. So they can be prepared.

And then we need some volunteers (even not pregnant), women that will go out there, get stopped for reasons that would blatantly not be considered "reasonable suspicion" and have multiple mini-cameras taking video and be prepared if the cops start violating their rights. And then they'll have a foundation for a federal court challenge case.

But I think it's even funnier he thinks cops should 'make a determination' if a heavy woman is pregnant or not. Oh, please please please let there be body cam video of that.

Indeed. The idea of traffic stopping pregnant women is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

A traffic stop because a woman is fat is also a lawsuit waiting to happen. They'll never back that...that cop would lose his job in a heartbeat if challenged in a police report. Legally a cop cannot ask if a woman is pregnant, period.

Unless they are responding to a medical emergency.

Maybe Texas and Florida should just be kicked out of the USA.

Throw Alabama in there too. Probably wouldn't be a big loss.
