African-Americans still supporting Biden

Tricked or frightened? Wasn't it Biden saying that Trump was going to put blacks back in chains? Yea, real subtle Uncle Joe.

See what I mean?

No reason could sound like a good reason to vote for Bernie IMO. I'll probably vote for Bidden in the primary but if it's a Bidden Trunp election I'll most likely vote 3rd party.

President Trump thanks you for your vote.

They need to be honest with the American people and argue, you want free college, health-care, transportation, and child-care, you need to give up half your income to the government in exchange for said services.

Already doing that right now!
Only, it's not taxes, it's HEALTHCARE. My son's premium just bumped from a thousand a month to $1434 a month.
It is the only policy available to him because he was born with "Chernobyl Heart" syndrome and will eventually be looking at a transplant.
Add another $250 a month for my daughter. Thankfully she is healthy.

That's almost $1700 a month and now add in the $650 a month we're paying on her student loans, now we're up to about $2350 a month.
I am semi-retired due to health reasons at sixty-three so I am not bringing more than about $2500 a month, and that leaves my wife footing the bill for everything else with her VA pension.

I'd appreciate it if you'd stop making crap up to reinforce your positions. Yes, some Nordic countries offer childcare.
Nobody thinks that will fly here but what is going to fly is NURSERY SCHOOL, which is an important investment if you want the next generation to be eager to learn. And NO ONE asked for free transportation.
You're making crap up as if everyone here is an idiot but guess who looks that way when they make up stuff?

Didn't realize Trump was running as a 3rd party candidate

That's where your 3rd party vote is going to go.
Nearly ALL third party votes wind up siphoning away from Dems and toward Repubs. The only exception was when Ross Perot inadvertently helped Clinton.

Isn't affirmative action reparations?

You get a good job you can buy what you want.

What, really? You just said that, right? Do you even understand what you just said?

"Affirmative action is a policy used by colleges and universities to improve the educational opportunities for minority groups (including minority races, genders, and sexual orientations) that are commonly and historically discriminated against."

What you're saying is that because minorities FINALLY got, after three hundred years, what you and your ancestors had from the moment they took their first breath in this country because they're obviously white, they should shut up, be silent, don't make noise, take what they got and be happy we gave it to them. Is that right? Because they can now be hired for a job they're qualified for over another guy that's totally unqualified for but is white and had that advantage for many generations, they should just shut the hell up and don't complain about anything.

I have seen a lot of discrimination here, both overt and well concealed. Yours is the former. You will never be part of the solution to this country's problems because you are precisely the problem.

I wouldn't cast my vote for any of the Democrats running in a general election. They wouldn't of gotten my vote no matter what.

Okay you "rock-ribbed Republican" :)

You really don't know what you're talking about. In 2016 I was all in for Webb and would of voted for him with pride. This go round there isn't anyone I can support

WRT AA, I used to be one of its staunchest defenders, the idea sounds wonderful.
The execution of that idea however, has been a nightmare...not just for "white people"...for everybody.
I wish it worked but it doesn't, not as applied anyway.

Reparations is easy...what is the modern day equivalent of forty acres and a mule?
I'm actually serious here because at the time forty acres and a mule wasn't "a lovely gift" but it was the modern day equivalent of a small farm and a light tractor, so it's not like it was something to sniff at either. Po white dirt farmers would be equally happy with another forty acres and an extra mule.

So if you were to value it, what would it total out to today?
Convert it to a home loan package, like maybe a set of rebates or something similar, which makes the purchase of a home easier.
Add in some college tuition, stop redlining all the insurance and real estate, (legislate it out of existence) stop overcharging at supermarkets located in predominantly black neighborhoods (yes, "black people prices" is a very real thing in the South, and even some parts of the North!)

But of course the devil IS in the details. It is going to be difficult to match these things with people who do trace their lineage back to slavery.
It's going to be difficult because the old slavers MADE it difficult on purpose.
So, it's not like reparations is going to be easy to do, but it's an easy problem to figure out HOW to do in theory.
As long as it is limited to just the folks who are traceable back to slave families we can try to execute it.

I wasn't saying "rock ribbed Republican" as an insult.

If the Democrats only had one of these people to run against Trump in 2020, I would vote for any one of them over Trump. And, I'd be confident I'd be making a wise choice.

I'd vote for anyone that's not Trump, even if it was an orangutan from Borneo, although there would be a strong similarity.

I'd vote for most over Trump. Hoping there is a 3rd party candidate I can support

National (US) Poll - August 6, 2019 - Warren Up, Harris Down, But Bi | Quinnipiac University Connecticut

Really disappointing to see this. Rather than get behind candidates who will support reparations and school busing integration and other more racially-progressive candidates, many still support the clueless old white guy responsible for the 1994 crime bill that wreaked havoc on African-American families.

Progressives are going to have to do a better job of reaching out to communities of color to help empower with knowledge African-Americans to make voting choices that are within their best interest.

I'm always amazed to see someone telling others what is in their best interest. Are they too dumb and stupid to realize what's in their own best interests? Or is it what is in your best interest not in reality in their own best interest?

Everyone has their own reasons why they vote the way they do. Those reasons are mighty important to them. We may think their reasoning is asinine and plain stupid, but to them it isn't. Who knows better what is best for someone than that someone?

Obsession about outward appearance vs promising what is best for the citizens of our country.

I'd vote for Pennywise the Clown if he was running against Trump, even if Pennywise was also a Republican, just as long as we get Dem majorities in the House and Senate.

Hmmm well as a black person.
Speaking only for myself....reparations will never happen so why vote on it.
As a matter of fact forget loans, cash payments, and every other stupid thing.
Give up the 40 acres and a mule along with returning all the land stolen thru heir property deeds and I would be happy camper.
Forget bussing it's stupid...outlaw tieing property taxes to school wealth. Evenly distribute property taxes throughout a staten on a per student basis. Wallah schools are all on the same playing field then we can see what happens.

I don't care who gets the dem nomination I'll campaign, have events, register voters and vote.
Hey there are a few groups out there helping people pay thec$1500 so they can become citizens. Do what you can to get this guy outta office.

Very telling what you think of your fellow human beings. Translate your post opposing Obama. Imagine the response. Bit I digress
Do you really think that the folks you are conveniently using for a gotcha are not worthy of compassion, empathy? Are they not human beings? Do they exist for your pleasure, to make a point?
Oh the humanity.
Sorry to say, but if that is what the anti Trump crowd is about, I dare anyone to be part of it.
My goodness, have people no shame?

You know very well that President Obama was the target of racial mocking from the right. Oh how short your memories are when it comes to the horrendous, disgusting and racially hate filled images of not only Barack Obama but of Michelle and both of their daughters. So when it comes to your 'boo hoo' mocking Trump tears, save it for anyone that gives a goddamn because I sure don't.

Any excuse for mocking people will do? They did it first is a favorite.

This is precisely the kind of **** I am talking about.

We are literally watching a set of candidates that lean further left tear each other a new one, and mainly watching them focus on Biden. Simply because while Biden was further left under Obama's time of Democrats, he is now not near left enough with this lot of hopeful idiots determined to hand Trump a 2nd term.

Watching these debate and seeing hints of going after Obama's legacy (with Biden in hand) is stupid.

Obama, still today, has an overwhelming approval rating among minorities and Democratic voters yet now we see people here complaining that some minorities *should* vote a certain way as if they should be mindless idiots to today's furthest left candidate. As if any voting group should be narrow minded into one or two issues. Biden, by this very polling, is still very popular among the same groups and you complain?

This is why liberals lose too often, if they are so damn right then the best response I have is we ended up with Trump.

You still lost. Democrats assumed then who their base should vote for, and now you are gunning to do it again in 2020.

Obama both excited the voter and applied a little hope for tomorrow when doing so. He spoke in a way the left leaning Independent did not hear before. Warren nor Harris seems to be able to pull that off. A couple of quick whips here and there in debate, a talking point on CNN here and there, but overall they are all reminding that Democrats did not learn *anything* in 2016.

Hillary did not win in key districts in key states that Obama pulled off twice, and running this bunch of liberal extremists is doubling down on the arrogant assumption of who you think any group should vote for. Don't roll up in here after 2020 complaining about the loss, you refused to listen to the very voters you needed. Reparations is not going to be enough to buy that vote this time, and the lessons Obama taught us you are clearly ignoring by going after Biden with the same asinine assumption Warren, Harris and others are under.

Build on what Obama and Biden accomplished then, instead of ripping it all down because neither one was liberal enough for the furthest left today.

I don't agree with everything you said, but you raise a lot of good points there.

The number one reason why I have yet to get on board with progressives is not because they're too far left, though that is certainly a part of it, but because they only way they know how to win arguments is with sledgehammers and not scalpels. If Sanders somehow gets the nomination this time and goes into November 2020 with a nearly socialist platform (he is the one candidate that can truly be called socialist lite) and tries to defend it with a bunch of populist bluster, then he will get his ass handed to him so badly that Democrats will long for the days when they could complain about the electoral college.

I will add that Warren does seem to be somewhat of an exception to this rule. She has a feisty rhetoric, but she also knows how to wade through the details of every one of her policy proposals.
