A possible agreement with liberals.

Can I show some pics of my work. I maintain this all by myself, and I am no spring chicken.
It's beautiful, it still takes work... but you seem to have the personal conditioning and health to maintain it. (That's a good thing!!!)

What this thread shows is that, "we are all the same in many ways, and have many things in common, when we "don't get lost in politic party spin".
We have dreams, we have wants and we have our personal responsibilities.... and most of us, do what we can to keep what we have nice!

If we come to terms with that, and accept that not everyone will ever have the same sense of care and responsivities about the same things, we as people can stop bickering about politics as much as we do.

  • As long as big money influences government far more than we think we can, and big money corporation creates the inflation that diminishes the purchasing power of the "Dollar'. Which make our income do less and less. I've seen and I see people who come from areas were things are not kept well, and when they get a good job, they upgrade how they take care of home and their home environment. What causes so much decline in so many communities is multifold, and a lot has to do with "landlords" who become slum lords, because they are only in it for the monthly income, not for the premier upkeep of their property.

It's overly simplistic.

And I own 3 acres and do a lot of gardening. And dealing with pests. And trying not to use too much water or any chemicals. And keeping some in pasture for horses. And dealing with the realities of free range hens. Etc etc.
I had free range hens for about 8 years.
Growing food is a great deal of physical work. I just imagine people biting off more than they can chew, and then just letting it all go.
my thinking is, a lot of these sameneople put a lot of time and money into their landcape.

its likely no more sonwoukd be required for a garden instead. And perhaps I stead ofnpaying those services to cone by one a week for lawn care, series could sprout up to water and treat your crops. (Not for everyone, people could approach it different ways) some hands on that like to piddle, some pay for a lot of it.

Just turning green space into monocultures requiring more resources and spraying chemicals doesnt necessarily 'fix' environmental problems.
But even among those who go the chemical easy route, it's no worse than keeping a lawn, and at least you get a product that reduces pollution, and can enjoy fresher food. Every little bit helps.

Pea patches and communal gardens are great ideas that also suit many people.
Yep

You like grass I guess?
Yes, a nice well kept lawn is nice. It's great for children or grandchildren if you have them and its better than mud. But a nice yard includes, trees, shrubs, flowers. I keep a small vegetable garden as well, usually just tomatoes and peppers. I use what we grow and give the extra to friends and neighbors.

Sometimes it's a lot of work. I also cut the single mom next doors lawn, she and my wife are close friends and it helps her out.

Besides reducing military and legalizing all drugs, which I am liberal on I have another idea.

If it became a liberal "cause" to replace stupid wasteful boring grass yards with produce. I would cheer them and be on board, and applaud this consistency.

If thisnwere adopted on a wide basis, like 10s of millions doing it, think of the Incredible green benefits.

All the saved shipping of food saved etc.

There are a lot of people who have torn out their grass and allowed their yard to change to natural plants for the area.

They just let the wind and whatever seeds are being blown by the wind to change their yards from the boring green grass to wildflowers and wild grass.

There are several yards in my area that have been converted to veggie gardens.

I think it's a good idea.

My yard is way steep and I have too Many trees right now. I have a plan to develope a garden on my low land once I harvest the trees there. It's takes time and money.

You don't have to create a tree map of your land and can cut down any tree you want?

If so, wow, that can't be done where I live.

A person has to create a tree map. Alders can all be cut down as they are hazardous trees.

Pines and fir trees can't. The most you can cut down is half of them. In some places not even one pine or fir can be cut down.

Out here in the desert, people usually or at least often use zeroscape for yards. Lots of stone yards.

Here's a piece of my backyard for an example.

Yea but it's still pretty Fringe. We ate stuck in the 50s on this issue in nice suburbs.it

It strikes the soil of nutrients, while clover , soybeans or lentils can add nitrogen to the soil.
You definitely have to get good side by side plants with corn or a good rotation going. Horse poop as fertilizer I understand is good for nitrogen.

The boonies here can't cut down any tree they want.

Alders can be cut down, they are hazardous trees but the pines and firs can't.

It's the whole state. Not just the urban areas.

In some areas, not even one pine or fir can be cut down.

When we cleared a piece of land we own, I followed the guy with the bulldozer and had him dig up the small firs and pines and had him replant them in other areas of the land.

Not even one yew tree can be cut down. They are protected both federally and at the state level. If there's a yew tree on your land, it stays. We have a few of them on that land and we had to build around them.

Only half of the pines, firs and cedars can be cut down but some areas none of the pines and firs can be cut down.

Sounds like you live in a commie state.

I cut down whatever I feel like. I have a wood stove.

You might not be aware that the left wants to reduce farmland.

This is from a few years ago but you may be aware the european union is going to begin murdering cows to stop global warmimg

The left wants us to eat insects.

Good lord. I don't want you to eat insects unless you want to eat insects.

That is the worst kind of pandering to a far left base.

No one is forcing anyone on any of that. They are merely saying that with increasing populations, insects provide the best, most sustainable source of protein.
