A message from an Army Veteran to the NRA[W:45:62]

BS. Nobody who is real SF brags about it online, especially if they are still active, as you claim you are.

Stolen Valor right here, folks

You make me laugh. You might not know this but there are entire online forums that the vast majority of its members are either SF or SEALS.
There is no way you are more than an E3 at best. My bet is you washed out of basic.

Ok, mister SF. Just know that when some Tea Party group rebels, or a hurricane hits, you will be the first ones in to neutralize the rebellion and secure the weapons of any civilians in the area

If this post does not say "poe" I am not sure what does. I mean what vet would say their MOS deserves respect rather than earned respect?

I really have to agree with you. No one could be honestly this silly.

That or he is a 15 year old kid.

Re: A message from an Army Veteran to the NRA

Also, yes, I start a lot of threads. Is there a law against it?

Not a law but there is a Debate Politics rule that you are nearly violating.

Also, what do you think of my letter to the NRA?

I thought it was ridiculous and has nothing to do with gun rights in the USA...

And what exactly are you basing this on. And how exactly is the government getting around Posse Comitatus. I really think you have zero idea what you are talking about.

You watch way too much sci fi man.

MP's see action every single day, checking ID's, detaining drunkards, and keeping everyone on post safe. We deserve a lot of respect for our service

No offense to MP's and they have a job to do for sure but this is kind of funny... comparing combat to checking ID's?

It's funny how you are from New Zealand. As far as I know, New Zealand bans handguns, assault weapons, and requires a real reason to own a gun, not just "self defense". And they are much safer for it. And yet you want your safe country to become as dangerous as the usa. Why?

Posse Comitatus doesn't apply in an active state of war. If some tea party group watching too much Glenn Beck decides to revolt, America becomes a nation at war, and the active military is called in

I am an American and I want guns banned across the board but that isn't realistic in the USA. Here? Guns are almost non-existent and that is great. In the USA the bad guys already have tons of guns and banning them from lay-abiding citizens is a bad start to addressing the problem. Gangs in the USA do not compare to Aussie or Kiwi gans in the slightest...

Australia had a strong frontier culture, with automatic weapons and concealed carry. Then in 1996, the government said "hand in your guns" and the people did. Concealed carry was outlawed and automatic weapons were removed from circulation.

The gun lobby here in America is not as powerful as you think. They are losing support rapidly, losing members, gun ownership is sinking like a stone, and the nra is afraid. One strong, self confident move by the government, and the gun culture can easily have its neck snapped

I didn't know a hurricane counted as a revolt. Learn something new every day. Also if you think I would ever side with the government over the people you are out of your mind.

OK. Now we have Glenn Beck, causing Tea Partiers to revolt against the US! :lamo

You don't see how childishly simplistic and silly that argument is?

Is that why weapons sales are through the roof. Is that why more and more states are expanding their CCW licenses. Is that why more and more states are making SBRs and suppressors legal. I think the facts are not on your side.

But please tell us how old are you really.

I know very well what happened in Aussie and it appears you missed my point about gangs in the two countries and how turning in guns would negatively affect the good citizens...

Dear NRA: we are America's warriors. We are the Armed Forces. We train with our assault rifles to defend citizens like you. You have no business picking up an assault rifle for any reason.

Whenever some idiot like Wayne Lapierre, or some bimbo like Dana loesch holds up a gun and calls him or herself a defender of freedom, that is a huge embarrassment to us. You defend nothing but the gun industry's profits. We are the true guardians of freedom.

There is no reason for anybody in this day and age to own a gun with a pistol grip, a buffer stock, or a red dot sight. These are tools designed to kill people, and we use them to kill enemies of America. You only use them to kill children in classrooms.

And forget about your little concealed carry. True men like me don't need to carry a gun around everywhere to feel big. In fact, we are NOT allowed to carry guns everywhere while on base. And we don't feel small because of that. Because we know that the best self defense is not doing stupid ****, and watching your back. And if sheet hits the fan, we are physically able to defend ourselves with our fists, unlike you fat@$$ weakling semi-men gun nuts.

Don't believe me? Just ask Senator Gary Peters from Michigan, who is a veteran and supports gun control. Or ask Jack Reed, senator from Rhode Island, graduate of motherfreaking WEST POINT, who is a staunch opponent of the NRA. Or Tammy Duckworth. Or Ruben Gallego. Or Anthony Brown. Or anyone on this list: Candidates | VoteVets.org

And you think you can overthrow the US military with your little toys. HELL TO THE MOTHERLOVIN' NO WAY! We have nuclear missiles. We have drones. If we get the order from our commander in chief to obliterate you and take your guns from your cold, dead hands, we will. And your arsenal will do nothing, since you won't even see the bunker buster coming. We already turned Atlanta to ash in 1864. We will happily do it again to protect elementary schoolchildren in classrooms around the nation.

But most of you would turn in your guns peacefully. You don't have the balls to fight. You wouldn't really die for what you believe in. Otherwise, you'd have enlisted in the military. Why didn't you, you big men? (HEAVY sarcasm there).

So when you pick up a gun, and read your little NRA propaganda, and feel like a good American, just remember that we real American heroes are not on your side.

I call solid digestive waste from a male bovine on this.

No experienced military veteran could possibly be as ignorant about the most basic aspects of firearms as this letter reflects. I say that this letter was not written by anyone with any military experience, or any practical experience at all with firearms.

You'd be probably shot to bits if you chose to rebel. Most of the US Military would actually obey their oath to obey the orders of the commander in chief. One picture says it all:

http://media.syracuse.com/post-standard/photo/2011/06/9731458-standard.jpg

US troops would not obey orders to suppress Americans and US soldiers have family that they would not fight as well... do you think that Americans are going to revolt against a just government? Obviously not or it would have happened... an unjust tyrannical government is a different story and might see revolt but the military would not follow such orders. We are not a dictatorships and have separation of powers for very valid reasons...

and more than half of them would be on our side. They would be hunting down those who want to kill citizens for owning guns. Why are you so afraid of citizens owning guns. Civilians are your (alleged) master and the supreme sovereign. If you are afraid of your masters being armed, that is sad

and your claim (I thought your first post was something you had cut and pasted from some website and I was trying to find it on the net) that red dot sights etc are for killing children is so silly I laughed for five minutes

Australia had biker gangs and urban street gangs too. The gun ban disarmed them as well.

Australia had gun crime the level of the United States in 1995. When their gun ban passed, their gun crime dropped to almost zero within a few months
