A Eulogy, or a campaign convention?

My point at the time, 3 and a half hours ago, which I'm now over Saboteur, was...

Why do you have to make a personal attack against anyone to make your political point? Especially since it didn't seem germane to the point at hand...

We were discussing why they were doing a tribute at the RNC and then he blasted him about his naps, jelly beans, etc... True? Possibly... Partisan rhetoric? Definately....

You mean we can't talk about the personal behavior, especially when expressed through the political and legislative processes?

That wasn't my point and I agree, we should be able to talk about personal behavior, assuming it's germane to the point at hand.

I didn't believe his mentioning naps & jelly beans when we were discussing the purpose of a tribute to Ronald Reagan at a political rally, the Republican National Convention, was germane. It seemed out of left field to me and I might not have expressed my viewpoint clearly at the time...

And whenever I hear someone mention him taking naps and eating jelly beans, yada, yada, yada, it's usually in a debasing form...

Well it wasn't what happened at Corettas that is for sure.

A funeral should be about the person who has died. It should be a celebration about that persons life and what was important to them. It is a service for the family. It should not be a political rally or protest or demonstration to get votes.

The Democrats once again put their agenda in front of everything else. They have this right... but to choose to do it at a funeral, just to make news headlines is pretty bad. Bash Bush all you want..........picket outside..........but to sit in a church, Gods house and spew hatred........is uncalled for. But this is the way Democrats work.

When I look back at my moms funeral this past fall, I remember the scriptures, the songs, the testimonies to HER...and the Dove released at the end. The funeral was all about HER, my mother and the love we had for her and the love she had for Christ.

What will be the thing remembered at Corettas?.........the Democrats slurping at the pulpit......spewing hatred?
So sad and uncalled for at her final memorial service.

Lowry and Carter, call themselves Christians.... They were anything but on this day. Somewhere I think Christ said love your enemy.........that must be a scripture both missed and didn't quite comprehend. Maybe Carters peace prize is covering that verse up in his Bible. They both were shameful and classless.
Carter has made a business out of criticizing former Republican presidents, undermining their every move at the expense of America. He is a traitor even out of Clintons league.

Carter was a complete failure as a president and obviously is a very very bitter man.

That's not for you to decide.

No biggy butI gave my opinion and my thoughts about the funeral. Wasn’t that what we were suppose to do?

I never denied, that for your funeral or any funeral you plan, you can decide how you would prefer it to be organized.

Of the four criteria you adressed (three i adressed), three concerning what it should be, one concerning what it should not be. The three of what it should be were satisfied, the last, is up to the family, and that appears to be satisfied as well. therefor, it was a funeral.

Paul Wellstone died with his wife and daughter in that plane crash. The plane crash that happened a couple of weeks before the election. Minnesota Democrats had to scramble to get Mondale dusted off and on the platform. There wasn't time to campaign for him so Wellstones sons tried to convince disheartened Democrats back on the band wagon. Unfortunately most didn't show at the poll anyway.

My point is that they weren't still trying to convince people who weren't going to vote for their father instead of Norm Coleman. They were trying to convince decided voters to vote in spite of the loss.

Ted Kennedy was supposed to be on that plane but didn't get on... There are many people who think Wellstone was murdered.

That's how sleazy I think your party is.
