Chinese President Hu Jintao has vowed at celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic that Beijing would continue to "work with the people of all countries to build a world of peace and common prosperity."
Mr Hu and China's collective leadership viewed a grand two-hour pageant from atop the Tiananmen Rostrum, where Chairman Mao Zedong proclaimed the birth of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
Mr Hu vowed that Beijing would stick to "an independent foreign policy of peace to promote lasting peace and common prosperity of the world."
Sporting a Mao suit, the Chinese premier stood in an open-top Red Flag limousine to review military formations which involved nearly 200,000 People's Liberation Army servicemen and women, civilians, dozens of fighter jets and hundreds of tanks, artillery and lorries carrying long-range, nuclear-capable missiles.
After the review, Mr Hu, who is also Communist Party of China general secretary and chairman of the powerful Central Military Commission, said that the development of China over the past 60 years "fully proved that only socialism can save China and only reform and opening-up can ensure the development of China, socialism and Marxism.
"We must unswervingly follow the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the reform and opening-up policy," he insisted.
PRESIDENT Raúl Castro Ruz presided over the official ceremony celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in the Universal Hall of the Revolutionary Armed Forces in this capital.
Zhao Rongxian, that nation’s ambassador in Cuba, stated that the constitution of the New China brought to an end the history of humiliation in the old semi-colonial and semi-feudal society, and marked the final victory in the struggle against imperialism and feudalism by the Chinese people in the modern age.
He commented that over the past 60 years, leading the people, the Communist Party of China has opened the way for socialism with its own characteristics and has secured fruitful results.
Once China is in a position to move from Communism With Chinese Characteristics to a purer Leninism, the world order will be washed away and China's victory will be a victory for us all.
How exactly is China communist these days? They have private property, including large scale employers like shopping malls. They have even have laws set up for the creation of private corporations. China clearly moved into the camp of state capitalism during 2007 , and the command economy is a thing of the past.
China's economy is increasingly market-oriented. It was those reforms that made possible China's extraordinary growth. China is not likely to sacrifice its gains by returning to the Leninist centrally-planned economic model that predated its economic revolution.
60 years on from the glorious victory of the people and China is celebrating, and rightfully so. Tremendous advancements have been made, advancements that only socialism can deliver and there is much more to come. Once China is in a position to move from Communism With Chinese Characteristics to a purer Leninism, the world order will be washed away and China's victory will be a victory for us all.

Have you ever studied any kind of Marxism, or socialism with Chinese characteristics? What is happening in China is precisely what has to happen, it is a necessary stage of the development of the modes of production. China went straight from feudalism to attempting communism, totally skipping the Bourgeois stage of production, now they are going through that stage and will come out at the other end ready for communism.
