OK, someone I know ate an edible gummy a couple of years back and thought she was dying. Does that count in the total death data?

First time I tried an edible it was a brownie and I did not realize you were not supposed to eat the whole thing at once.
Felt nothing after almost an hour, went to sleep, woke up next morning blitzed out of my mind and a bit paranoid, and to top it off, we were staying overnight at the home of my (then) 87 year old mother, who wanted us to wake up at 7:30 AM on a Sunday morning for Sunday breakfast.
My wife alternated between pinching my arm and suppressing the giggles as my mother repeatedly asked "Jeffery, what's wrong with you?'
And then of course after brekkie we had to accompany her to church, because while I am practically an atheist, I still went out of respect for Mom.

She showed us off to everyone and introduced us to her pastor, to which I mumbled something like "Nice to meet you, Padre" with my red light bulb eyeballs and goofy grin.
But we all survived and I learned how to deal with edibles the right way, sparingly and with a bit of caution.
