2 abortion providers charged with murder in Md. - Yahoo! News
" Authorities say two out-of-state doctors who traveled to Maryland to perform late-term abortions have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of murder, an unusual use of a law that allows for murder charges in the death of a viable fetus."
It takes to two to tango. Hopefully they arrest and charge those who solicited these murderers and participated in murdering their children.2 abortion providers charged with murder in Md. - Yahoo! News

This is great news, though I'm sorry to hear it's an "unusual use" of a law. Late term abortions = murder. Couldn't agree more.
plus this:Not only that, the reason they were caught in the first place is that they ridiculously botched the procedure, rupturing the woman's uterus.
plus this:
"Rather than call 911, Riley drove her to a nearby hospital, where both she and Brigham were uncooperative and Brigham refused to give his name, documents show.
A search of the clinic after the botched abortion revealed a freezer containing 35 late-term fetuses, including one believed to have been aborted at 36 weeks, the documents show."
While I think they should be charged for malpractice because of the harm they caused to the woman, I don't support and will likely never support it being illegal to perform late-term abortions, so the rest of the case and the law, as far as I'm concerned, is dumb as hell.2 abortion providers charged with murder in Md. - Yahoo! There are many laws that I disagree with but very few that I would call 'dumb as hell'. Why is it dumb as hell to ban late term abortions? While I think they should be charged for malpractice because of the harm they caused to the woman, I don't support and will likely never support it being illegal to perform late-term abortions, so the rest of the case and the law, as far as I'm concerned, is dumb as hell.
Because I think it's dumb to ban abortion in general not only because people are just going to end up getting them done by people who don't know what the hell they are doing (as we see in this story) and because the "rights" of a fetus should not be elevated above the rights of an adult. There are many laws that I disagree with but very few that I would call 'dumb as hell'. Most, if not all laws get broken. That doesn't make them all dumb as hell.Because I think it's dumb to ban abortion in general not only because people are just going to end up getting them done by people who don't know what the hell they are doing (as we see in this story)
Are they, or is the right to live being elevated above the right to late term abortion?and because the "rights" of a fetus should not be elevated above the rights of an adult.
Which is why I treat every law as a specific case and in the case of abortion it's dumb as hell. Most, if not all laws get broken. That doesn't make them all dumb as hell.
That's just another way of saying the rights of a fetus are being elevated above the rights of an adult. You've just specified the rights. I'll specify them another way - the right of a potential person to exist over the right of an actual person to control their body. No matter how you phrase it - still dumb. Are they, or is the right to live being elevated above the right to late term abortion?
I'm rather surprised we don't use aborted fetuses as a food source. They're not human, after all. Even at week 36...
They are human and I'm pretty sure most pro-choice people agree - so your hyperbole doesn't really work.I'm rather surprised we don't use aborted fetuses as a food source. They're not human, after all. Even at week 36...
Well, to be fair, there's a lot of non-human things we don't use as a food source...like grass.
They are human and I'm pretty sure most pro-choice people agree - so your hyperbole doesn't really work.
Yes, late term abortions are fine, but nowhere did I say that they aren't human. You just completely made that up.How come they're "human" but not entitled to protection? (I'm talking about a viable fetus.) Actually, your post is what prompted this thought...that even late-term abortions are perfectly fine. Or did I misread?
Yes, late term abortions are fine, but nowhere did I say that they aren't human. You just completely made that up.
A fetus is human. A woman is human. I believe the rights of the full grown woman are more important than the rights of barely functioning human.

What's sad? That I disagree with you? If so, I'm unmoved.Sad. I'm glad you draw the line of "barely functioning" as in utereo, though. At least I assume you do...
