12-Foot, Overweight Black Woman Statue Erected In Times Square As 'Contrast' To 'White Men' Hero Statues

So, are MAGATS upset with this because obviously some white guy has been denied the equal opportunity to become overweight and stand around posing in a predominant spot? Is that the basics of this issue?

Sure. I take it you're unfamiliar with photographic arts. Or cinematic arts. Or music. Or painting. Or any of the other arts whose works include tragedy, mistakes, horror and are anything but aspirational.

Yep like when they make a $100 million off that tragic story, it's not aspirational at all.

In the meantime you're distracting from the fact that this is how the left views an aspirational black woman.

You seem confused.

Considering our war over confederate monuments, why not?

"Price hopes the works will prompt reflections about the role of monuments and the types of people and stories they tend to elevate.

“If these fictional characters are from a gender or perceived race that you have decided should not be at this level, and suddenly you see them presented in their gloriousness, it challenges people’s internal landscapes,” he says. “But this is so important for us to do, we should all be doing this to ourselves daily. So this is my little gesture to present an opportunity for people to question their assumptions about the world we live in.”

I think you'd get a similar (huh?) reaction if it were a 12-foot-tall statue of a random white guy wearing sandals and cargo shorts being "glorious." I just don't see how this "challenges people's internal landscapes."

... I'd hit it.

I have no doubt you would. That isn't the issue. It's when you ghost her in the morning and won't pay for the abortion you demand. That's the issue.

You see a Karen? Interesting.

Why? Was this Karen a slaveholder? Did she rebel against the United States?

You have a deep understanding of art. Far deeper than my interpretative ability.
You referring to ones celebrating slavery?

Many black women's bodies are living monuments to slavery.

Christopher Columbus never owned slaves.

How is the left viewing aspirational black women? Can you be specific?

... damn. Now I have to rethink my choices in life.

Thanks?

Christopher Columbus never owned slaves.

We had slavery here. Many states offered it. They seceded from the Union. Many statures were put up in honor of people who defended it. Many have come down.

Are you not familiar wit this?

No sir, it is you distracting. Art isn't aspirational by default. You are incorrect. Nothing I've written is incorrect.

I really don't GAF about the left. Does the left live rent free in your head? The topic is sculpture. It's an art form. It's a tad bit deeper than "the left."

Here's some aspiration for ya. Wha'cha think? Do you know what this piece is? What it means? How does it make you feel? Aspirational?

Well? Are you sticking with the "art is aspirational" deflection or are you coming around to reality?

Now you're using your noodle. Yeah, that is something that could have been done. And since we are used to seeing statues of white men, using a black woman re-enforces the contrast.

This tragedy has been monetized for generations.

Columbus didn’t bring slavery to America, yet 33 of his statues were taken down.

Christopher Columbus never owned slaves.
He did round people up for being traded as slaves, so in every meaningful sense yes be absolutely did own slaves.

It doesn't matter whether he was technically the first person to ever enslave someone on this continent. He still enslaved people.

Also, you know, the genocide. Do you think we should have statues of people who commit genocide?

Sad is what I call it.

Well I said typical. However it is clear NYC hasn't been typical for quite a while now and hence why people are fleeing it.

Art is aspirational.

How can you tell she is unbothered? Did you twerk in front of her and get no reaction?

Aspirational and I guess you learned a new word today.
Aspirational, huh. I'm guessing the root of that word is 'aspire'. And so you say statues are usually of people who aspire?
Aspire to what?

That's because he's accused of genocide of Native Americans.

Then why mention slaves? And notice, nearly all “accuse” him of mistreatment of native Americans, but don’t see concrete proof.

Columbus resisted efforts to preach Christianity to natives in the Caribbean because he wouldn't be allowed to enslave Christians.

He literally did capture natives for the slave trade.

Concrete proof? You've never even read the slightest bit of the history on this? Yikes.

I was referring to the taking down of the statues of those who fought to protect slavery.

Not a statue!

We need to move it somewhere with context or whatever. Or just not move it at all.

How can statue be overweight? Did the producers lie to the crane operator?
