‘We’re citizens!’: Oklahoma City family traumatized after ICE raids home, but they weren’t suspects

It isn’t lazy police work and you can never prevent what happened here unless we have a surveillance State where the government and law enforcement know where everyone is all the time. It isn’t law enforcement’s fault that the previous tenants got out of dodge without a forwarding address before the warrant could be executed.
It’s obviously lazy police work because they didn’t take the time to investigate if the people that they were going to search even lived at the residence.

I love this railing against a surveillance state in service to the police being able to whoopsie doodle knock your door in with weapons drawn and take a bunch of your shit.

It doesn’t appear that anyone’s rights were violated. If there was a valid warrant served at a valid address then there was probable cause and the search was reasonable.
They did it to the wrong people.

How is that not the State violating their rights?

The excuses that are made for the State obviously ****ing up is just crazy.

Nonsense. They had the misfortune of moving into a property that had an active warrant against it. It’s just that simple. As for their property, I’ll never understand why people run around with their life savings in cash but civil asset forfeiture is highway robbery. That’s not unique to this case so its neither here nor there though.
You mean like $3000 in one's purse?

They didn’t even knock. They just busted the door in.

Except that's bullshit.

Here is the text of the 4th amendment:

Were these peoples' phones listed in the warrant? I bet they weren't.
Usually a warrant will include “electronic communications devices” so that would include phones and computers.

No one issues warrants against properties.

The length you Trump losers goto to make excuses is sad.

of course he is. and he is not alone.
Until a few of their doors are busted in, there will be no joy in Mudville.

They don’t care as long as white people aren’t the victims of Trump tuhuggary.

Only for the people listed on the warrant
Not necessarily. If the devices are in the place to be searched then they are fair game. Nothing says devices couldn’t have been left behind or transferred to other people.

In this case you would be wrong....why? Because this isn't the people they were looking for and they KNEW it.

I am not certain these agents even had a search warrant...thus why they wouldn't give their information

Well, it seems they claim they had a search warrant and that they ing...are investigating human smuggling. The problem is, they are lying...they already admitted this wasn't the family they were looking for...now because they found an electric bill paid over a month ago by the people they are looking for they are trying to claim these people are connected to them....the people haven't lived there long enough to have an electric bill...

This is the Stasi that the MAGAs begged for.

And the cops had no justification for checking whether her story and ID were valid?

Jesus Christ. What’s with this Luther clown sitting trying his hardest to deny reality by playing semantics. Just stop playing dumb simply because you can’t dare being yourself to admit this is wrong on EVERY and ANY level.

WTF is wrong with the people in this country! Trump really brought out their pure racism and hatred they’ve been hiding for so long. I guess that’s why they love him so much. He made it ok, safe and gave them the strength to let the world know and see how awful they are.

Ask any Trumper if they want him to fulfill his goal of becoming the dictator he wants to be and change the way our country was founded and built upon and has always been. And watch the mental gymnastics they do to not just admit that yes, they do want him to be. Their constant support, loyalty and willingness to completely dismiss or deny all the crimes and actions that he does almost daily is very easy to see they do.

Once they checked her ID and with the rest being kids it should have been sorry ma’am previous occupants were who we are looking for and left. Instead they continued to steal everything of value and literally destroyed the home

They didn’t “steal” anything and if the house was a mess after the search that can be taken care of easily enough. The one thing I did notice in the video was broken glass which indicates a forced entry. The reasons for a forced entry are few. Either the occupant refused entry or the warrant was for an expected violent offender.

Until we know what the warrant was for it’s unreasonable to assume that the cops were in any way out of line.

The busted in walls, door and windows aren’t easily taken care of when they stole their phones, laptops and money and yes, its theft

The warrant was for people who no longer live there.
Is that a fact? I haven’t seen that a copy of the warrant was released so if you have access to it I’d ask that you point me in that direction
