Imagine if the entire enforcement apparatus in the Mar a Lago search obtained the warrant for the residents who had lived there prior to Trump, or for someone who no longer works there. MAGA supporters would have been out shooting people and firebombing over such a thing...especially if the agents had taken Trump's money, computers, etc. on a warrant for someone who was no longer there.

One of the major flaws in our Constitution is that the people who wrote it did not fully appreciate the power of tribalism. We on the left are not immune, but any objective analysis reveals that it's much stronger on the other side of the spectrum right now.

Pretty much everything ICE does has something to do with immigration--that is, it has something to do with someone who came to this country that we have some reason to want to look at in an up-close and personal way. If your point is that they might have been looking for the former resident because that resident might have been involved in, say, drug smuggling...it's kinda hard to see how that would make a difference here.

Depending on how you mean that, that's either a red herring or a straw man--either way, it's a fallacy of relevance. Did I say that no one does those things, or did I say anything that has that implication? No, I did not. I agree we should be aware of such stuff happening and we should act to put a stop to it. None of that means that when ICE raids a house and discovers that the person or persons they are looking for don't live there any longer that they should treat the current residents the way they did. It seems like a pretty easy thing to look at the current residents' IDs and figure out that the person they're looking for ain't there, and they should leave the people who are there alone.
