‘Everybody Shouldn’t Be Voting,’ Republican Blurts Out

Holy shit!

You do know an employer wants to hire the best they can right?
Knowing how many ammendments are in the constitution or not in no way gives me insight into a politicians potential as an elected official.

You obviously seem to think it does. Explain why?

Oh yes, this county only goes back to then

You're not doing so good(LOL)
Ok.

Go back further, then. Late 1700s? Early 1800s?

A time when the vast majority of the people in the US couldn't read or write...they had to gather at a meeting place in town and wait for the 1 or 2 literate people read them the news.

But hey. At least they knew how many ammendments were in the constitution. Super vital.

Civics Bud

It starts with the Fundamentals

*sigh*

Ok.

Before you Hijacked my post to Taco(yes you) It was the spirit in what was the American Revolution

There are stupid people everywhere, but show me an effective and nonbiased test that can be used to disenfranchise people and I will bet you that all ideologies have significant numbers of people get caught up in that particular dragnet

This thread does not appear promising so I didn’t read any of the links, but there’s a large difference between the opinion “some people should not vote” and taking steps to implement “we should ban some people from voting”.

I actually find the first one impossible to disagree with.

I think we should use The U.S. Citizenship Exam

Pass it, and we issue you a voter ID free of charge.

Will people from both major parties fail? Yup, don't care. It will also incentive them to self-educate.

Is that supposed to be the downside?

Yeah, I would call it a "Downside" when the Majority of Americans cant pass this test

Sure...

ALEC is directly tied to the emerging trend among state legislatures to consider voter ID laws.27

Using false allegations of “voter fraud,” right-wing politicians are pursuing policies that disenfranchise students and other at-risk voters — including the elderly and the poor — who are unlikely to have drivers’ licenses or other forms of photo ID.28

By suppressing the vote of such groups, ALEC’s model “Voter ID Act” grants an electoral advantage to Republicans while undermining the right to vote. In addition, ALEC wants to make it easier for corporations to participate in the political process.

Their Public Safety and Elections taskforce is co-chaired by Sean Parnell of the Center for Competitive Politics, one of the most vociferous pro-corporate election groups, and promotes model legislation that would devastate campaign finance reform and allow for greater corporate influence in elections.29

Do your own test

I challenge you

Ask questions like..., "What kind of Gov do we have?

Ask... How many amendments are there in the constitution?

Ask... when/how did the Revolutionary war end?

Look at all the blank faces

I challenge YOU to explain why these three particular questions decide whether or not someone should be able to vote.

How come you didn't ask how an aircraft produces lift?

(Republicans are taking steps to stop people from voting)

I never said that(wink)

It's to point out to guys like you that those people are voting(wink)

ALEC claims it “does not lobby in any state.”20 However, ALEC’s tactics and operations are strikingly similar to those of registered lobbyists with corporate benefactors.

Beyond distributing model legislation, ALEC provides its members with “issue alerts,” “talking points,” and “press release templates” expressing support or opposition to state legislation.

The organization tracks the status of its model bills in legislatures, and sends its employees to testify in support of its bills in state houses across the country.21

I wouldn't.

You sure?

We spend more on Education than anyone else and you're okay with that?

It's worse out here than I thought!

Like 70 million people voted for Donald Trump, proving they are dumber, more vicious, and more gullible than the people in that video.

*shrug*

And 80 million (Majority) voted for Biden(worse)

Oh man...

You sure?

Absolutely. So long as idiots continue to make up a majority of the electorate, politicians will continue to pander to them.

We spend more on Education than anyone else and you're okay with that?

That I'm not okay with, and would happily support a bevy of education reform proposals internet to introduce competition and accountability.

No, those people made the objectively better choice.

Yes, it's really showing at the border now(wink)

More debt

"More people want to come to America now" isn't the sick burn you think it is.
