Sounds like you are a very busy lady. But anything that promotes math and science in this country is a must. The number of American kids graduating with such degrees are steadily on the decline.

Your right. I was at the American Peptide Society convention two weeks ago and the studies going are were amazing. One of the customers that I produce resin bound ligands for actually filter blood products with it, removing prions and preventing the spread of diseases, such as mad cow. It is all very interesting. What line of work are you in?

I work now as a peptide chemist for a private compay, but worked as a microbiologist for years at the University of Louisville doing medical research, as well as helping in the conducting of clinical trials.

I really have to wait until I get back from my roadtrip. I'm packing up now and will leave tomarrow for 10 days.

We actually caught the 38 fish in the net ourselves. My cousins from the Nimipoo (Nez Perce) took us. It was incredible. The net is on a metal hoop about 2.5' in diameter. there is a buckskin tab on one edge of the net that's tucked under the other side under the metal that's attached to the pole. You put the net in the river with the net ahead of the hoop, lowering it slowly, you can feel the rim of the net, the metal part, slide over the backs of the salmon. They feel that and turn and race downstream, right into the net. The second you feel them hit the end of the net, you jerk the net up and twist the pole, the buckskin "latch" lets loose and the net slides around the rim, closing the opening and trapping the salmon. Then you gotta drag them out of the water. It's awesome fun, specially when two or three get in your net!

I love to fish and would love to see people catch fish like that.

I'm off for the next four days. Leave early in the morning to get to the border when it opens, the Pikuni crossing. Headed to the Belly Buttes for the medicine lodge ceremony that culmunates on the 21st. It's similar, but not the same, as the Lakotah sundance. I'm all packed, ready to go do some heavy duty praying, singing, dancing. I'll carry my friends into the lodge with me. We'll be praying for the Iranian people too I'm certain.
