    I couldn't wait 50 years, so in 84 I built my own passive solar house. Without any technology or additional cost, just using passive solar design features, I have cut my heating and cooling needs by 50% for the last 26 years. We are also about to take advantage of the Democrat's 30% tax credit to buy and self install a 1 Kw solar panel system.

    Our civilization may go down in flames, but I will at least have the satisfaction that I did everything I could to preserve our resources and environment for future generations.

    Agreed about Carter. He made some poor decisions as President, but he certainly had the foresight when it came to energy. Bottom line, as of today, we don't have any alternative source of energy/fuel that is everything that oil had been. And like Global Warming, all the sign will be staring society in the face, yet so many will be in denial. That is human nature, unfortunately. Some in the doc think we are 50 years away from good solid alternative technology. I hope they are wrong.

    Great documentary MG! Somehow, I don't think we will ever see that aired on Fox!

    So, what do you think? Will people choose to alter their lifestyles significantly enough to cushion the shock, before it is forced on them by reality?

    These kind of questions are why my son did not want me to talk politics with his prospective in-laws before he got married a couple years ago! LOL!

    Would have been a whole lot easier if we had continued with the transition Carter began in the 70's! :sun

    Excellent report! I have bookmarked it! Thanks! You know I have been aware of Peal oil since the Carter administration. It boggles the mind that so many conservatives are either oblivious, or are prepared to wage war on innocent people to continue our addiction to a depleting supply rather than take steps to lessen the shock before its too late.

    Hey ! I went to a hockey game last night. Our city has one of those farm league teams. It was great fun. They obliged with a 10-man brawl, with only a minute-plus left in the third period. :bringit: Our team won. The fight, and the game! :mrgreen:
