Do you mean the bands or the songs? It's about the bands, that's why I made that comment about the Stones. But when I was on the fence, I came down on the side of "delivery." The songs definitely are.

Yes, they might be borderline but I live for hard rock, grew up on it and "I make" the distinction in those particular songs for over the fence into heavy metal. Seen many of both standing right in front of the stage, in front of the stacks, getting my eardrums blown out.

Led Zep I is not Heavy Metal. Rather it is one of the best blues rock albums ever released. Imho, the best.
