Turns out Luca went into the men's restroom and no one had a problem with it. No one tried to stop him for being a trans man. No one ordered him into the women's restroom.

It was Luca who didn't like the men's restroom because... no privacy.

After a lengthy drive to the bar, Strobel said he stepped inside to use the men’s room. However, there were no stalls—only urinals, rendering it inaccessible to him as a trans man.

This claim is repeated here.

Luca Strobel had gone to the Sand Dollar Social Club in Folly Beach on May 16 to be a designated driver for his friend Caroline Frady, who was celebrating her birthday. Strobel, who has an “F” gender marker on his government-issued ID, tried using the men’s room but found it unusable; no stalls, no dividers, and no lock on the door.

So again to clarify, no one stopped him from using the men's room. I find it highly suspect to claim the men's room didn't have a single toilet. Would I believe it had a toilet and the stall had no door, or that the door was crappy, sure but it seems odd that there would be no place for a man or trans man to shit period in this bar. To me that claim from Luca is suspect. I think Luca didn't like the restroom but guess what Luca, men's restrooms treat men like disposal trash with no privacy concerns and no worries about their feelings. Get used to that if you're a man as well.

At first, an employee warned both Strobel and his friend against entering the bathroom of the “opposite” sex, but after a brief back-and-forth, Strobel said he believed he had permission to do so.

So this to me says, that he was he was belligerent, argued and then did whatever he wanted anyway. "he believed" is the nicest way of hiding the truth that he ignored what the employees and owner said.

South Carolina doesn’t even have restrictive bathroom laws for businesses, making this incident even more perplexing from a legal standpoint.

Strobel has now started a GoFundMe campaign to relocate to California, having raised over $5,000 toward his $15,000 goal. He says he no longer feels safe in South Carolina after this traumatic experience.

So to clarify, no one stopped him from using the restroom with which he identifies. He refused to do so, and then got into an argument with staff. He ignored them and did whatever he wanted. Now he needs you to give him money.

Strobel said the man demanded that he stop peeing immediately and exit the stall — Strobel finished peeing and then exited the restroom. He then said the bar owner began pushing him out of the bar while calling him a “f**king weirdo” while the aforementioned female employee allegedly shouted transphobic slurs. The owner then allegedly pushed Strobel into the arms of a police officer standing outside the bar, who proceeded to handcuff and charge Strobel and Frady.

So the bar owner called him a mean name and the same person who he "believed" gave him permission after some "back and forth" also allegedly called him a slur.

I guess his belief didn't translate to reality.

Authorities charged both Strobel and his friend with public intoxication and disorderly conduct, imposed $500 bonds, and scheduled a court date.

So he also maintains he wasn't drunk but is also the victim from everyone in every instance possible.

Now Luca needs your money.

This is going to be quite expensive and with my current part-time job here, I have no way of paying my rent and bills while saving for such a drastic move and change. In addition, I do not have health care.

Luca wants to raise awareness of trans people in the South with his part time job and also by moving to California.

Um, as a man I've gone into many bathrooms where they had troughs to pee in. It wasn't even an individual urinal but a big trough. I remember even using them back in the day in Dodger Stadium.

As for looking over the stall door, exactly how tall is this bar owner or how short is this door? Most doors I've seen for stalls are at least six ft high so to see over them you'd have to be a solid 6'4" or taller.

That said I've been in plenty of male restrooms where the toilet stalls simply have no door. You have no privacy. You hum and hope for the best.
