So a democrat caught with his pants down... a big so what.. or is he one of those rare family values democrats promoting abstinence and the sanctity of marriage as one of his core beliefs? If so.. freaking hypocrite!.. if not... again so what...
2) No real information if the supposed contact was consensual or not.
unwanted sexual encounter
If consentual, no big legal problem. If not, he deserves whatever punishment the law throws at him. Of course, other than answering the question of what really happened, another question that needs to be answered is: "What in the world is a 56 year old man doing with a barely legel 18 year old young adult female?"
It really doesn't matter if it was consensual or not. The fact that he decided to have sex with the daughter of a high school friend who gave money to his campaign pretty much guarantees nobody is going to support him in any future campaign.
Wu is on his own now.
The only reason people make a big deal if it's a Republican is because of their claim to a moral high high-ground when they say their the "party of family values." As far as I know, the Democratic party makes no such claims.People seem to make a big deal when it happens to a Republican. Why not the same standards for a Democrat? Ultimately, it has zilch to do with party affiliation because both sides have had similar things happen. It speaks more about the character of the person involved than anything.

Hey Pete, it always helps to read the source material. Here, let's take a look at it:
He's a politician. He's dead meat, he's finished in politics.
Um, she could be 18 or 19 so if it's consensual then what's the big deal?
yes... says who? And it is not the first time a woman has claimed rape after a consensual sexual encounter or the first time that parents pressure their daughter into claiming rape...
there are no facts in the article.. zero...
You mean like Ensign, Vitter and so on... people who got re-elected despite similar shadows hanging over them (and in Ensign's case worse)?

The opening sentence stated it was not. SO...

I didn't say it was A-Ok, I said I would hold my nose and vote for him. What would you do is a similar situation, not vote or vote for the Democrat?

The Oregonian is reporting that David Wu won't seek reelection, he has also said he will not resign. Nancy Pelosi is opening an ethics investigation on him.
