why should there be term limits for congressmen or congresswomen? if the voters want them to still serve in Congress, then they get voted in. if they do not, then they lose the election.

too simple and logical an answer for the peeps here
you need to mush it up with complicated nonsense ;)

It's interesting. When I made my original 'dissent', I thought I might be the only one. I now see three others have joined me. Also intersting is the fact that political leanings are all across the spectrum.

I think that the majority of Americans (60%) are either too lazy or stupid to bother voting. This means that even if they have malfeasant cash whores representing them, they’re not getting kicked out of office unless they’re proven to be corpse-raping gay pedophiles. Yeah, it’s probably bitter and cynical of me, but I’d prefer to have the compost heap churned every once in a while to avoid stagnation like we currently have.

I think it’d be a good idea to have term limits, and to allow politicians to go beyond them only if they can get the majority of their constituents to make an exception for them. Maybe on the year before their limited terms are up, we could put the question to the ballot “Should this bastard be allowed to run again next year?” If they’re doing a good job, than I’m sure they wouldn’t have any problems getting people to vote acquiescence. But if they’re doing anything less than a good job, America’s natural propensity towards laziness will ensure they’re not able to further exploit our inattentiveness.
