Tulsi Gabbard has come out today favoring censure over impeachment. I was curious what both sides think of this compromise. I'm guessing that both sides would not be in favor of doing this, as Democrats are out for blood and Trump & Co are out for total vindication. Trump has already poo pooed this idea in the past. But, this question is for DP members.

I'd settle for no impeachment or censure of any kind.

Censure is a form of official shaming, and Trump has proven to all that he has no shame. Censure is for shaming him for racist comments, or mocking women or a handicapped reporter. Censure is not the punishment for high crimes and misdemeanors or abuse of power, impeachment is the remedy for those. Censure would mean less than a hand slap for Trump. I'm not surprised Tulsi Gabbard would be in favor of censure since, although she may not be a Russian asset, she sure talks like one.

Let the partisan rumble commence.

Censure would work for someone who either has the ability to feel shame for their actions or takes responsibility and has remorse for their wrongful actions. In both instances Trump has shown he will neither admit any wrong doing (even when it is proven) and has no shame or remorse for ANY of his wrongful actions. So no, I wouldn't take censure for Trump.

Voted no, at this point the case is made that Trump engaged Ukraine in an effort to politically help him here holding Congress approved funds in the balance.

It was intentional and it was an abuse of power.

Seeing Republicans today become Putin's useful yet clueless tools in an effort to defend this narcissistic, aristocratic, and lunatic in Trump pretty much ends the debate.

Who cares what Tulsi Gabbard thinks, anyway? If I want to hear from a Russian asset, I will look no farther than the White House, thankyouverymuch.

He's going to be acquitted and probably be reelected, so tell me was this all worth it?

Nothing about impeachment is "worth it," there is no victory lap here no matter what happens.

What we are seeing is a sad and dark moment in US history where because of the planned outcome in the Senate there no longer is any standard for dealing with a President abusing their power.

At least you admit that Democratic Party members of Congress are Russian assets.

Putin definitely wants Trump removed. He wants the Democrats to give him the rest of Ukraine, more of our uranium, to lift Trump's sanctions on Russia and for a Democrat President again to stop any investigation into Russian involvement in our elections.

Really? because I see people using the word "Happy Impeachmas" indicating this was worth it.

Trump haters don't give a rat's ass what Gabbard says.

Trump haters won't settle for censure...especially the Dem Trump haters in the House. Their rabid, Trump hating constituents will rip them a new one if they don't go all the way today and vote for the articles of impeachment.

What they do is up to them, but do not project that nonsense on me as if someone else speaks for me.

Either call me a liar or move on.

Would YOU settle for censure?

Yeah, didn't think so.

I don't see my fellow Democrats being "out for blood" in the Congress, no, out to protect the office of the Presidency and the Constitution from a man who has proven from day one he respects neither and that the "people" he is most concerned with he brought with him into the White House.

It is obvious that there would not be any successful Censure vote coming out of the Senate.

So the notion of going that route is an exercise in futility.

Doesn't really matter since he won't be removed. I am sure they will try for censure after removal fails.

Democrats are not out for blood. They are doing their Constitutional duties.

Censure sometimes works. But it wouldn't work on Trump. He has no shame.

He has to be impeached if for no other reason than all future Presidents need to understand that their power as POTUS does not include demanding another country investigate the son of his/her political rival in order to receive Congressionally approved funding. It won't send a message to Trump but he's beyond hope anyway. Hopefully it will be a reminder to the next Presidents.

I wouldn't doubt that some are happy about it, but that isn't the majority nor are most people "Happy" about it. It's a ****ing embarrassment that the President has acted in the way he has. Asking foreign countries for help against political opponents, abusing his power and obstructing congress. These are things Republicans used to denounce from a president and now you guys happily cheer for it. You even cheer for the senate leader McConnel BLATENTLY saying he isn't going to be impartial in the trial. I mean the lows you guys have gone just proves you don't give a **** about our country.

It is Democrats who are useful tools. They have been running around like chickens with their heads cut off screaming Russia for three years now. And, recently Russia said something like Trump was their mole and it set off another tizzy of the left bending to Putin's every word.

He's going to be acquitted and probably be reelected, so tell me was this all worth it?

Not to mention that he actually has a better chance of being elected due to all this nonsense for three years now.

Oh please. I bust a gut laughing every time a Democrat says such nonsense.
