Would you be more or less safe?

Would you feel safe or unsafe with more guns in society?

As a Texan, its important to assume everyone is armed, legally or illegally, so there's literally no effect to me.

That is interesting to me. If you assume that everyone is armed, that probably means you take precautions on how you act in certain situations, how you protect yourself, etc... If you DON'T assume everyone around you is packing, that would also affect your decision making. In this argument for/against guns, when does personal responsibility become a factor? I knew growing up there was a gun in my house (father was a cop). I don't remember the gun getting up to shoot anybody, nor do I remember anyone in the house "acting a fool" (is that the cool terminology nowadays) with said gun.

And as you are fully aware, there is no metric or data point to measure ownership rates. There is no way to quantify it.

At least in my case, avoidance is preferred. I avoid places likely to cause problems (bars, late night restaurants for example). I avoid road rage responses and things of that nature. I avoid getting into verbal matches or anything of that nature.
