Besides Hunter, Tancredo and Paul, Keyes was the only other conservative running although he is probably more far right than the other three. Would McCain picking him, help him with disenfranchised conservatives?

I sort of like Keyes for his higher intellect but he is sort of a loon. So I'm with you. Repub's draft Keyes. Please.

Yeah, that is my thinking almost exactly, though I would add in that I love his speaking ability. he did not do well this election cycle, but during the 2000 republican debates, he was at times just on fire, drawing you in with his voice and mannerisms untill you forgot that he is a total fruitcake and wanted to run out and campaign for him.

Then he would stop talking and I would get scared. He is so totally a nut.

In answer to the poll question, Keyes would do far more harm than good for McCain.
 
I'd love to hear McCain explain why he'd seek the endorsement of anti-Catholic priest Hagee and then with the same hand ask Keyes(a Catholic) to be his VP. The spin somebody would have to put on that would be monumental.
 
Alan Keyes is the smartest dumbass in politics.
