WORDLE

Do your guesses have to be actual words? I kinda assumed they did. Otherwise that blunt force approach would be stupid easy. Just work your way down the keyboard and by the sixth line it'd be a simple question of your vocabulary....

(Wouldn't it be five five letter words so you get a ruling on 25 of the 26 letters in the alphabet?)
Yes they have to be actual words

Really? I came up with using adieu because of the vowels. Maybe I’m not as dumb as I look.
Learned this from my grand daughter that after 5 tries the correct word show up in line 6.
All that time I thought I had 6 tries
More pressure

Archive of past Wordles, to catch up.

I just randomly think of a 5 letter word to start, with at least 2 vowels. I'm not betting the farm here.

So you're hooked like the rest of us & refuse help?:)

Thank you for telling me about it a few weeks ago--it's fun!
It is
A few weeks back we were out to celebrate our grand daughters 15th birthday
I asked her if she played it, and her eyes lit up, big smile, she was hooked
She was surprised I played it as well
Since then we text our days guesses

Quordle is definitely more challenging for those that like the challenge.

4 words, 9 tries

That's my first guess too. I used to use 'pious' to get that 's' in and eliminate plurals but I find adieu better.
I've only missed one word- my third guess gave me '_atch'. There's a whole bunch of words that fit and I didn't get to 'watch' inside six guesses.
A slightly more challenging version is Wordle2, It's six letter words. Absurdle is an interesting twist, the winning word changes according to the possibilities left so you have to kind of back the logarithm into a corner where it has nowhere to go but your guess.
I'm a puzzle junky. I do word puzzles and sudoku sitting in front of the TV while my wife watches crime dramas.

Take a look at the Waffle game. It looks like the British cryptic crosswords but you have to drag letters around the puzzle and you have 15 moves to get all greens. It's not really challenging but It's new enough to be diverting.

Ooh…I’ll check it out!

Spoiler Alert!
I just did the latest one in 13 moves but I was set back by one word being a name and a slang verb.

Sounds like it needs looking into. BRB...

Got two, but I think I get how to work it. Looks like another version of my puzzle addiction.

My first thought was to use adios because of the s but eventually decided the 4 vowels was a better start than 3 vowels + s.

My wife and I play a couple of word scramble kind of games she has on her phone over morning coffee. I usually pkay wordle after - she doesn’t play it. I usually play over the course of the morning spendind a minute or two on it between whatever else I’m doing.

I’ll give Wordle2 a shot - i tend to think up lots of 6 letter words when playing the 5 letter version. Absurdle sounds like it’d hurt my brain. :)

I do the word games in the morning to distract me from the news.
Absurdle? I find that success comes with eliminating commonly used letters early, ivowels and consonants, in the first three guesses. Back the game into a corner where the only consonants left can only be used in one word.

Wordle 283 3/6

⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛
⬛⬛🟩⬛🟩
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

I just want to thank the people who suggested this. I've found it a welcome distraction from everyday activities. I only play it a few times a week, but I really enjoy it.

Here's my stats thus far:

The only one I didn't solve was because I didn't know that a letter could be used more than once.
