Well it depends what one is looking for. :shrug:

When I was out catting, it was all about looks. When I decided to get a little more serious, personality and ambition were just as important. At the time, it didn't occur to me that his family would be of importance, but trust me, it is.
 
Out of the things you've listed, personality is the number one thing for me.

Naturally, there are other attributes that are important as well.. but if there isn't a mingling of personalities and that "spark", then the rest doesn't matter anyway.
 
I tend to look for good knuckle development on wimen. they need to really be able to work that scrub board, as I like my Bib-os, really clean. and Lye soap tends to wear on tiny knuckles. It's the little things that make the difference. don't you agree??:mrgreen::2wave:

It's hard to say.
It must just be personality, plus sexual chemistry, plus I don't know. Other stuff.

It's not looks. My first husband was not a physically attractive young man, but I loved him very much, at least for awhile.

My second husband is very handsome, but I don't think that has anything to do with why I'm with him. I've seen him looking quite fugly before, and that doesn't change my feelings about him.

Neither one of them really values commercial "success"; none of us are conventional people. We don't care much about money or material things.
So it's definitely not about money, for me; in fact, I probably wouldn't be compatible, personality-wise, with somebody who was real driven to success. I'd probably be a big liability to a person like that, and vice-versa.

So, yeah. It's not looks, money, or dick size (to shoot down the top 3 misapprehensions I've heard from men about what women value in their mates).

I can't really say what it is; I can only narrow it down via process of elimination. It's not any of those three things.

Actually it's very easy to explain. Women want everything. Seems as if they'll always entertain the better option until a smart, successful, rich, charming, romantic, rugged, handsome, mysterious, family-oriented man with a huge schlong comes their way.

It's not fair. All we men want is a good steak and a great rack. Your gender needs to learn the art of compromise.

Are you serious? I entered a marriage with a guy who owed more than $30,000 in student loans and made essentially the same amount as I. Oh, and he had no car.
 
Ethics. I want someone who is completely ethical. Intelligence and a sense of humor are also extremely important. And I want someone who is kind and considerate. Those are on my must-have list. The rest is all negotiable.

I made twice as much as my ex-husband (and still do) during most of our marriage, and I make about 3 times as much as my boyfriend annually at this point in time. Next year, when he starts a Ph.D. program full time, I'm sure the difference will be even more pronounced.

I don't need a man to support me financially. I want companionship for other reasons.
 
Well I guess they want an alpha male. A male that other women want is very important it doesn't matter if he is faithful so long as he is in demand by other women that is all.

Because i think that life is better when shared with other humans. I want someone to laugh with, cry with, sleep next to, and build a life with. I want someone to see the world with. I want to grow old with someone I respect and adore.

To me, loving other human beings is really the point of life.

44. I've had a chance to think about this for a considerable amount of time. It may sound corny at 24, but it's definitely something that many people decide that they want at my age. :shrug:

Personality - he's got to be kind, sweet, considerate, sensitive and moral with a good/pretty dark sense of humuor, interested in things other than football and beer, and woe betide him if he patronises me or expects me to play the little woman. We have to be politially in agreement on the "deal-breaker issues" - I couldn't date a homophobe, or a pro-lifer. Also, compatibility in the video game preferences department. ;)
