Woman who carried gun to daughter's football match found shot and killed

You're still anti-second amendment. You could post all the neat **** that you have too, and I'd still not care.. as far as I'm concerned you're just as bad as the gun grabbers themselves... ****, as far as I'm concerned, you are one.Does it not?

Well WHATEVER !! You have the right to be wrong and you have shown through your posts that your excercize that right very well so congratulations.

Ok. Think about what you're saying. She took a gun, which she was legally authorized to carry, to her kid's soccer game. Then it was taken from her and suddenly ... she shows up dead.

Tell me you can see the patter here.

Gun = She's alive
No Gun = She gets shot to death.

It seems to me that the idiot cop who confiscated her weapon caused her death. If I were the family, I would sue.

I wonder if he went all crazy cause she was talking to her "friend" on webcam? So sad

Huh? She took that gun to a game back in 08. This has nothing to do with it? :doh

Also based on what I read her gun was in a backpack. So she was still packing?

Your post made a "180" from thoughtful to insipid with the last paragraph.

Is there ever a time in your eyes to openly carry a holstered weapon?

The diference between your approach to "debate" is that I have not called another poster names but I did not. Yet I believe in adult level debates and other do not.

Hogwash.

The weapon was taken from her wrongfully but it was returned : "Hain made headlines in 2008 when she attended a soccer game of her daughter, then 5, at a park with a Glock handgun holstered on her hip in plain view.

Nine days later, the sheriff revoked her license to carry and conceal a gun, citing a state law that prohibits certain gun permits from being given to people whose characters and reputations make them dangers to public safety.

A county judge overturned that decision but questioned Hain's judgment and said she had "scared the devil" out of people at the Sept. 11, 2008, game."

The contention that the original confication of her weapon in 2008 causing her death is falacious becasue "Officials on Friday said her gun was in a backpack when she was killed. Scott Hain, a parole officer, owned the 9 mm handgun he used to kill her. "

The weapon was in her possession at the time she was killed therefore the confiscation of 2008 had absolutely nothing to do with her death.

Sorry but this statement of yours = "It seems to me that the idiot cop who confiscated her weapon caused her death. If I were the family, I would sue." is just not supported by reality.

Yes, I actually detest that phrase but I used becaasue I was responding to a detestable and annoying attitude.

My 13 year old daughter also loves to drop that one, so you're in good company...

At first I was like... what kind of five-year-olds play football? I hope it's flag football, not tackle.

Then I realized this happened in the UK, and of course the article is actually referring to the game Americans call soccer.

Why would a parole officer kill a woman with a permit to carry? That doesn't make any sense. Apparently, Scott Hain is a murderer and needs to be in prison for the rest of his life.

Still ... the Sheriff was out of line and needs to lose his badge. She had a permit to carry and she was well within her rights. The Sheriff is a mindless asswipe who needs to be removed from law enforcement.

Good, the person who attempted to respond to my post did so at your daughter's level hense next time I will hire her to respond to the person.

There are way too many opinions going around regarding guns and gun control. Melanie Hain claimed with extreme vemenence that she was only asserting her 2nd amendment rights as per our Constitution.

Some of her neighbors had/have a varience of opinion. " Debbie Mise, a neighbor of the Hain’s said in the Lebanon Daily News:
Mise said she had a feeling something bad would eventually happen at the Hain home.
“She just wasn’t right,” Mise said of Meleanie Hain. “You don’t bring a gun to a kids’ soccer game, and you don’t wear a gun when you go shopping at Kohl’s.”

I realize that it "just" an opinion of a mere neighbor but this goes right back to the heart of the matter which is that we all have right guaranteed us but we all need to exercise those rights in a rational, reasonable, and sane manner.
It appears that Mrs. Hain was exercising her 2nd amendment right just for the sake of exercising them. Yes she even has that right no matter how foolish or immature that is. What Melanie apparently did not understand or did not care about was that all of our actions have consequences and Melanie just seemed not to comprehend that.

My wife is a Kohl's shopper and she would freak out if she knew that someone like Melanie who is reported to be maybe "just wasn’t right,” was carrying a gun in Kolh's.

Sorry, I recently forbade her to use that word along with the tone of voice that you so skillfully added to your post.

Good, you appear to be a good mother or father. When my daughter was a pre teen she went through a phase of using the word "Duh" and her own creation "No Duh". That was indeed very irritating. She is now a mother and I threatened to teach my granddaughter phrases that I know will irritate my daughter. You know what they say about payback !!

so you always jump into threads without having a clue about even the most basic of facts

IT WAS A MURDER SUICIDE  yes Scott is a murderer, but he is also DEAD:doh

very immature or both. What the hell was her reason to to go armed to a soccor game. ?

The same reason why I go to political rallies armed. You dont know who your going to encounter. Children's sporting events arent much of an exception, why do you think Little League has strict punishments when parents get into a brawl?

Your reason for going to "political rallies armed" is really not clear from what you wrote. Are you and have you ever been threatened at a political rally and have you feared for your life at such rallies? Do you go to political rallies of people whose views you oppose? Do you get into arguments with people at the political rallies?

Do you carry signs that provoke people into saying nasty or threatening things to you?
Do you troll for a fight at political rallies? Have you ever had to use your weapon to defend yourself at a political rally?

Have you ever gotten into an argument with another person who was armed?

If you have ever been threatened at a political rally you should absolutely go armed. That would be your greatest deterrent.

Since most protests in recent months have been economically based and people are very quick to generalize I prefer to be safe than sorry.

Do you go to political rallies of people whose views you oppose?

Whenever there is a protest, there is always a counter-protest

Do you get into arguments with people at the political rallies?

Yes, I have, a few punks called me an Obamabot and threatened to beat me up until I pulled my pistol on them.

Do you carry signs that provoke people into saying nasty or threatening things to you?

No, I dont like drawing attention to myself. The only thing I carry would be my Campaign for Liberty shirt and wrist band and of course my camera.

Do you troll for a fight at political rallies?

I dont look for fights, I finish them If someone starts one with me.

Have you ever gotten into an argument with another person who was armed?

If gotten into arguments but since NY doesnt allow open carry I cant answer this question completely.

Those Service Union thugs tend to engage in behavior that might need shooting over:mrgreen:

I do hope that you are from the good part of NY upstae because many of us from Connecticut are tired of New York City types buying up "country" houses in Northwestern Connecticut.
