If the ACLU agrees that parts of the constitution have been incorrectly interpreted by the SCOTUS then it should not shock them in the least that others have similar feelings about other rights and act on them accordingly.

Let's take this by the numbers:
Where have I suggested that the majority is always right? I do say that the right and logical, are "mostly" Conservatives.
If you suggest that my responses are ignorant, I certainly disagree. If you think the responses I have gotten back from my query are ignorant, I disagree again. Everyone of these people is college educated, some served in the military, some retired with a career in the military or law enforcement, one is a doctor and one is a nurse. Sorry calamity, I have never been a fan of the ACLU. For every one thing I might agree with them on, there are 20 others that make my blood boil.
As for the flag, I was raised and taught in school, to see that flag as a symbol of past historical events in the USA, a part of our heritage and nothing to do with racism. The Civil War had many issues, and the biggest reason for it was State Rights and Economics, including slavery as an economic factor in the mix. Not as the big "moral" issue as promoted in today's world. Taking down statues and flags, from the South, is wrong because they are just as big a part of our heritage and history as anything else.
Sanitizing our country, like the Germans have tried to do over WWII, IMO, is wrong.
I just read the other day that some college in Oregon was renaming one of their halls because the guy they named it after a 100 years ago, had racist beliefs. To me, that is just over the top, stupid.

There is no "state's right" to own other human beings, sorry. And if your economic system is dependent on owning other human beings/slave labor, that economic system doesn't deserve to live anyway.

Actually, outside of the border states, and I believe one outlier northerner state which didn't abolish slavery until like ten years before the war, slavery was outlawed in the North. In fact, unlike the south, which wholeheartedly embraced the institution, slavery never really got a foothold in the north.

And considering the fact that 98% of the rest of the world acknowledged that slavery was evil, and had gotten rid of it, by the time the south launched its "they may take our lives, but they'll never take our slaves!!!" death ride.......

Are you recommending that Sessions start "sending the DOJ" into states to enforce laws that he feels need to be enforced?

How do you feel about invading Sanctuary Cities? Arresting the Governors of states that have legalized marijuana?

Suspending due process for a special pet project will often produce ripple effects that you might not like.
