I don't think that he will. It's not because up until this election, he and the Clintons were ,if not friends, at least friendly. I think that he won't because it would be bad for the country. Pushing a criminal investigation would further divide this nation and I don't see Trump wanting to see that happen just because ti make governing that much more difficult and would be bad for the country. I could see some legal repercussions directed towards the CGI/Clinton Foundation, but that would be more along the lines of administrative punishments and getting their poop in a group. I look back when Ford pardoned Nixon because of the harm the criminal investigation would have done to the nation and I think that Trump will take the same approach of doing what the nation needs and not what justice demands.

I think he needs to stay far away from that topic!
I also think if the Justice Department finds illegal activity, and can get a Grand Jury to indite,
Clinton should be tried in the court. Trump just cannot be involved.

I can see him appointing a special prosecutor in order to put the email and Clinton Foundation scandals to bed forever. If he telegraphs that intent? I can also see Obama being pressured to pardon her...but I doubt he would...unless...

I agree with you.

In a weird sort of way, Trump will be helped by the same corrupt Negro Trump ripped into so many times for corruption.

As his last act of corruption, the corrupt Negro will pardon the corrupt Crook and take Trump off the hook so that he, Trump, can devote all of his time to deliver on his promise to "Make America Great Again".

A trully strange parting gift from one US president to another.

My wife and I were arguing about this yesterday.

My take is that he really can't go after her because it just wouldn't be "presidential". That tit-for-tat, go after my political opponents thing just isn't something that presidents do. As has been said, Clinton was/is the nominative political head of 51% of America. If your goal is to unify the country you can't behead the "loyal majority's" leader.

My wife disagrees with me. Her position is that a great many of Trump's supporters actually threw him their support because of his "drain the swamp" narrative which was in large part built around the idea that "Crooked Hillary" is a criminal who benefited personally and financially from her abuse of political office. She is THE poster child of why the swamp needs to be drained. Add to the that the fact that Donald Trump is not, at all, in any way, your "typical" president-elect. He maybe shouldn't be expected to act in the same way you would expect a president-elect to typically act.

Frankly, I think it's a crap shoot at this point.

When "the powers that be" sit him down and give him "the talk" that all new presidents get maybe his head turns and decides that maybe he needs to play ball with "the way things are done".

Maybe he really is more of a typical politician that I expect, and his "campaign promises" are just the campaign lies of your run-of-the-mill president.

Or maybe he goes after her with both barrels and shoots her dead in the face, exactly the way he's been telling people he's going to do.

There's really no way to say at this point.

Clinton broke the law, repeatedly and blatantly, and needs to be held to account. Otherwise the rule of law in this country is endangered and the immunity of the elite continues.

True or not, it shouldn't be Trump's battle once he takes WH.

Perhaps somebody a little farther down in his cabinet positions could wage that war.

Trump needs to focus on improving something for America. Quickly.

...and would show that the level of corruption and special favors continues under Trump. A supremely bad message for the country, Trump, and all of his supporters.

What Trump should do is leave this sordid mess in the hands of his DoJ and an indpenedent prosecutor.

Add to this a grand jury, and Trump is in the clear.

She is right.

Either his AG pursues an investigation, or he pardons those who have done similar things.
I think the former has a better chances of occurring than the later.

She is right.

We'll see.

Heck, I hope she's right, but I'm basing my position on a knowledge of history and tradition and what presidents actually DO once they hit the WH.

I think maybe a special prosecutor and he washes his hands of it publicly.

Assuming of course Obama doesn't "pardon" her (or I guess it would actually be granting her blanket immunity like Andrew Johnson did with Confederate officers) on his way out the door.

The new Trump Attorney General should take on that responsibility. Trump's new Director of the FBI should be lily white and pure as the driven snow. Julian Assange can still play a huge role is this national tragedy. As yet, Huma and Anthony haven't been seen. I suspect they are singing like birds. If Obama is exposed, others will follow. It could get very nasty. Trump promised to drain the swamp. There are uncounted millions of Americans who heard the chants to "Lock Her Up" and will not forget that call for justice. I don't think Hillary's and Bill's troubles are over. Bad things happen to bad people. Karma.

Your post made me smile. Thanks.

I also noticed that I breathe easier lately. I wonder why...

I have mixed feelings. As much as I want to see that stupid bitch get her just desserts, it would further divide us. But, judging by the current protests, there may be no way to heal that divide. Thanks Obama.

He should appoint a special prosecutor for it and then wash his hands of it. Clinton DID break the law and there should be accountability. The Elite are NOT above the law.

You hit the nail on the head. Trump needs to satisfy those who want justice as well as those who would prefer to move on. An independent prosecutor would solve both problems, while at the same time washing his hands of the whole ordeal.

Trump now declaring that he doesn't want to do this because he "doesn't want to hurt the Clintons" Because "they're good people".

:) Gosh. You'd almost think they had been friends for years, or something...

He's going to say "no" until after Obama leaves office. Then he's going to appoint a special prosecutor and then Hillary is going to go to jail.
