Will the GOP ever nominate a non racist for president again?

Will the GOP ever nominate a non racist for president again?

There used to be a time when the republicans nominated candidates that weren't racist for president. Folks like bush, mccain, and romney. Now it seems like racism is a feature and not a bug of the trump movement. I fear that this will become the norm. Every candidate that runs for the GOP nomination sees this winning formula and will replicate it. Candidates will try to out racist each other. What do yall think?
MAGA is too utterly convinced of their own self-righteousness to do any serious self-reflection.

Will the Democrats ever win another presidential election?

Assuming mostly-free and fair open elections (a big assumption) and that the Democrats make no changes to their party platform? No. Probably not within the next decade.

I do not think Republican politicians think that they themselves are good people. I do not think they even care.

except

Democrats were plantation owners
Democrats were KKK
Democrats were Jim Crow
Democrats were the ones hating/voting against civil Rights

those spots don't change

You have that part of history right

But

The right always leaves out the profound change in those southern democrats after the Civil rights act of 1964, the voting rights act of 1965 and bussing to integrate the public schools.

ahhh the mystical "we're not like that anymore, we're actually Republicans !! " argument liberals try to throw out there

LOL

Back in 2000 we were told Bush was the most racist mother****er ever to run for president! Remember this ad?

And remember when Grand Wizard Romney - Mitt ****in' Romney! - wanted to "put y'all back in chains!?"

It's the same shit, over and over and over. You've cried "wolf!" too many times. No one believes you anymore except for all the other wolf-criers.

My, so sensitive! If you folks had half the sensitivity towards racism as you do towards being called racist, you'd be the wokest members on the board.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I was alive during those elections and I can remember things. I'm just calling out bullshit for what it is.

everyone is a racist if you don't do and think exactly the way a liberal tells you do

its quite amazing how fast liberals can turn on people isn't it ?

Trump may be the least racist president in history but he is GOP so by definition a racist.
Thank God I wasn't eating anything before reading that outrageous lie. Otherwise, I might have choked.

OH, no, now you've done it.

A republican who won't bend over backwards to worhip at the alter of Trump?
How dare you.
Prepare to have your republican credentials questioned and be called a Rino.

Will the Democrats ever win another presidential election?

Yep, they sure will.
The Republicans didn't just crumble and stop trying just because Obama won so why should the Dems stop now?

Thinking the Dems are done for good is plain silly.

No one called Bush "the most racist mother****er ever to run for president!" in that video. No one even calls him racist. You're just looking for reasons to complain. The second video was just a joke. C'mon man, can't you take a joke?

Bush, McCain, and Romney were all called racists by Democrats at the times that they ran for office.

Perhaps Democrats should just ****ing stop calling everyone they don't like a racist all the goddamned time. Just a thought....

Why do so many Trump-supporting conservatives not want to be called what they are?

They've got decades of their lives invested in speaking in code. What terms do they imagine the code exists to replace?

The Dems will continue to lose until they stop letting the insane far-left woke wing of their party drive the agenda.
I generally agree with that statement. I don't like the wings of either party driving the agenda as I think politics is like golf, best played by hitting the ball straight and keeping it the fairway. It is amazing the cons have gotten away with it as we are now witnessing a extreme version of their policy set.

We will see what happens if they really get their way. I am not wild about pendulum swings, but if the Cons screw this up, and they are tracking nicely in that direction, they could well deal with an equal swing to the left as a consequence.

I don't think the Dem party will cease to exist. Although I have heard it endlessly repeated here that the GOP is forever the party of Trump or would be lose forever because of the Blue Wall.

That's not true. American political parties are very good at reinventing themselves. For example, the GOP won because it stopped running McCain and Romney type candidates. It only lost in 2020 because of Covid and the bad economy it brought.

The question is, will the left run another Biden or Harris in 2028? If so, they will be in the wilderness for a while. And that's not even counting the demographic shifts that will see an effective 28 EV shift from blue states (-14) to red states (+14) in the 2030 census.
