I know this has come up before for him and he has dismissed it, but every issue gets magnified in the general election, and even in the primary elections. The LDS church had a very racist policy until 1978. Romney was 31 when the policy was reversed. However, remnants of the policy still exist in the church's current doctrine. Romney has served as a bishop in his church. As Bishop, he was in charge of teaching the young men. The current manual for young men specifically teaches boys not to date girls of a different race. I like Romney, and will vote for him over Obama, but I think he has only seen the tip of the iceberg as far as opponents attacking his religion. So far it has only been fellow republicans that have had to go after him. If he gets the nomination, he will have the democrat machine digging up any dirt they can find on him, and unfortunately, the LDS church has a lot of dirt.
