The candidates lie about each other, they lie about themselves, they lie about issues they know intimately, and they lie about issues they barely understand. Of Romney, the Washington Post‘s Dana Milbank writes today that the candidate has changed, reversed and obliterated his views so many times that “Whatever Romney’s positions were, they are no longer.”

Well, if you want fantasy Mittens is your guy. Obama only promised change for the better. Mittens will give you whatever you want. You want flying monkeys, mittens has a plan for that. You want to never pay taxes again while having a ton of social programs, Mitt has a plan for that. You want clean energy, Mitt has a plan for that. You want a coal burning plant on every street, Mitt has a plan for that. You want an abortion, Mitt is all for it. You want to stop people from having abortions, Mitt will stop them cold. Mitt will tax the rich while giving them tax breaks. Mitt will tax the poor while giving them tax breaks. Mitt guarantees you will have social security and he will get rid of it so we don't have to pay for it. Mitt will hire more teachers, firemen, and police and then fire them to save money. You want medical care, mitt has your back, and he will also cut medical care spending out of our government so we don't have to pay for your medical care.

I really wish the above was a joke, but that is pretty much exactly what mittens has said he is going to do. The only thing that amazes me is how many people fall for it. You can't debate the guy he is saving your life while stabbing you in the back.

Every Mitt romney statement. You pretty much have to come in with some clue as to what the candidates have said or watched them at some point. This is the basics. This is like entering a quantum physics discussion and asking someone to prove 2+2=4.

The sister of Navy SEAL Glen Doherty spoke out Wednesday night about the controversy surrounding the politicization of her brother's death in the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya last month.

In an interview with CNN's Erin Burnett, Kate Quigley said she does not share her mother's anger toward Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who has spoken frequently about meeting Doherty at a campaign event. Doherty's mother told a Boston reporter this week that she wished Romney wouldn't make her son's death "part of his political agenda."

"My mother is angry, and she’s grieving," Quigley said. "The fact of the matter is what Governor Mitt Romney said about Glen is true, and he called him a hero and we’re honored by that. And we’re honored by what Obama did for the homecoming. The fact of the matter is being an American hero can be completely bipartisan. Everybody wants to point fingers and play the blame game – let’s blame the terrorists.”

But, she said, "the politics of it all are disturbing."

Sometimes voters get the government that they deserve.
 
I think it is POSSIBLE to be an honest politician...at the local level. I don't think it is possible to rise to the National or possibly even State level without being dishonest at least to some extent.

And I think a big reason is the sound bite. The vast majority of voters don't take the time to examine a candidate's true position. They get their info from sound bites. And truth, separated from context, can be damning.
 
I don't know who this "we" y'all keep talking about is. The only ones I've ever seen vote for liars are the Democrats and their useful liberal idiots.
