Where are you getting one in five? The DSM-5 estimates that about 0.005% to 0.014% of people assigned male at birth and 0.002% to 0.003% of people assigned female at birth are diagnosable with gender dysphoria.

You can't turn a cis person into a transgender person, so your concerns about leftists creating "gender confusion" is unfounded. Likewise you can't make someone with gender dysphoria into a cis person, and if you try to you're only going to hurt them. You can however help by accepting them and allow them to do what they need to do to feel comfortable in their own body and reduce their internal conflict.
