Why Medicare For All Won't Work

Solving simple poverty is a better solution; we can raise more tax revenue by simply increasing the potential for market participation.

Who can come up with a free healthcare plan that will cost taxpayers nothing? Why not just forget about healthcare plans and pass a law to force people not to get sick? That would make more sense than trying to take a deficit and spend thirty trillion dollars of it on universal healthcare.

Nobody has ever said that universal healthcare won't cost anything. Medicare doesn't have a cost at the time of service but that doesn't mean that it is free. The people who enjoy it have paid into the system just as we will all pay into the system for universal healthcare coverage.

Democrat CBO plan to pay for free universal healthcare: Tax the fire out of the rich and take those tens of billions of new dollars to pay tens of trillions of dollars for new universal healthcare packages.

It's not free, so drop the strawman.

How do you tax the fire out of people? Please use a semi-standard form of the English language instead of emotional nonsense.

OK. Let me rephrase. Universal healthcare will not be free to the rich or to working families, but it will be free to the unemployed, the disabled, the retired, the lazy, the diseased, the drug addicts, the alcoholics, the illegal immigrant and so forth.

'Tax the fire out of the rich?' What that means is taxing the rich from 85% to 95% who do not have their assets protected from the IRS through foundations, trusts, secret accounts, overseas shelters, and so forth.

What might be gained in new income from such high taxation? Maybe tens of billions of dollars. What might be lost to economic activity by such high taxation? Maybe hundreds of billions of dollars in lost jobs and businesses.

America can produce enough if you don't overload the system and tell would be doctors that it is not a profession to get rich at anymore. Why would anyone want to go to college 10+ years to make 50K per year?

Then why do we have so many foreigners, here and right now as doctors(Hello)

Also, why can't America produce High tech workers here and right now?

Think about it

If your country doesn't have free medical, you might as well live in a third world country.

Oh that's right. America is third world.

You really don't understand how it works; with UHC everyone pays a percentage of general taxation toward healthcare thus the cost is spread, everyone benefits. You will not be taxed to death; take Britain's NHS for example. Here's a breakdown (linked) of costs for the average taxpayer. You will note that, on average, we pay less annually for our healthcare than the average American pays per month for his. Why do you consider that a problem?

How much money is taken from each UK worker to pay for NHS? - Quora

You guys kill buy bullet at a greater rate than any nation in the world. Third world countries included. Well done America.

That's why America ranks 37th in the world for quality of healthcare, according to the World Health Organisation. Doesn't matter though, they beat mighty Slovenia by one place, and are powering ahead, just behind world leading Costa Rica. The country leading the pack for overall quality is France and, guess what, the French also enjoy universal healthcare. Must be an awful system.
