Why is the average firearm owner, an unsafe gun owner?

So you are wrong then because nearly half of them break rule 2. Refer back to the OP. Which you claim to read. Now show me you read it.

Why did they break it? Because they didnt know it (your argument) or because they chose not to follow it (your attempt to divert with a new argument)?

Answer the question. Why do you keep hiding?

My argument hasn't changed at all. All I did is point out according to your standard, gun owners aren't safe. You literally had a standard and I used your standard to show that you are wrong.

You insisted in post after post gun owners didnt know. Over and over. Now you are backpedaling like a circus bear on a unicyle. Face up to how you handled trying to argue your position and admit that gun safety you're focusing on isnt about "knowing." Your posts have devolved in to very dishonest diversion...it's shameful.

I'll take it as a sign that you think RF6 thinks the universal rules are my rules. So he doesn't know the rules. You know RF6 doesn't follow rule 2 either right?

Take it anyway you want, your credibility here, and disintegrating into dishonesty, is zero.

@Lursa, would you classify this response as the former or the latter? Do you think RF6 knows the 4 universal rules of gun ownership if he claims they're "my rules"?

This is a diversion known as, "Let's you and him fight."

I'm going to say it's because they aren't trained how to safely use firearms. Simple as that.

I want to make sure I understand correctly. You're saying I'm lying because it isn't gun owners don't know how to safely use firearms, it's that they don't be safe with firearms?

Is that what you're claiming?

I think it's proof you don't know the 4 universal rules of gun ownership. Without looking at them, could you tell Lursa what they are?

How would she know that? You don't know that. Why lie?

K. At least tell me if you know how to construct an ordinal variable.

Keep failing harder. You only get more and more desperate to avoid admitting you screwed up what you tried to hang your position on.

You don't know the 4 universal rules. Simple as that.

A very stupid post, when we all know you have know way to know. Again...zero cred. You are posting a lie in order to make a dishonest point. "Simple as that"

My position is that RF6 doesn't know the rules you laid out as universal. Do you know what universal means?

If RF6 is a gun owner and all gun owners know the 4 universal rules of gun ownership, then RF6 knows the 4 universal rules of gun ownership... RF6 does not know the 4 universal rules. Therefore either RF6 isn't a gun owner, or not all gun owners know the 4 universal rules of gun ownership.

I'm under no burden to accept any list of rules as being "universal".

I bet @Lursa has used guns enough that she has no need to refer to some sort of list either. She's just trying to explain things in a manner that someone starting from complete ignorance might understand. She'll fail of course, if the person she's trying to explain to is obstinate as well as ignorant.

Great. With that statement in mind, answer these questions. We were focused on access and storage at the time:

Everybody knows...do you think the cops who's kids get their guns and kill themselves or others "dont know?" Yes or no? Please answer the question. (If they had training, they'd know, right?)

How many times does a person need to be told to make their gun secure and inaccessible to minors/others? To be safe?

How much training (being told, learning) does it take to do the above?
Please answer both questions.

That doesnt make sense but feel free to quote exactly what I wrote that implies it. Show specifically why you interpret my words to say...whatever that means.

I don't think you know what you're arguing anymore. Have a goodnight.

So Lursa's rules of universal gun ownership... aren't universal. Good to know gun owners can't agree on how to safely use firearms.

I've seen a rule that says "Treat every gun as loaded".

Who the hell would think that disassembling a loaded gun is safe practice? I treat guns that I know are unloaded, as unloaded guns.

So Lursa's rules of universal gun ownership... aren't universal. Good to know gun owners can't agree on how to safely use firearms.

100 million who use their guns safely is good evidence your conclusion is wrong.

Can you recite the Rules of the Road booklet given out by the DMV? Do you keep a copy in your lap for reference when deciding what to do at an intersection?

There's a zillion links to them so it's clear you still have no idea what you're talking about. I said universal because you'll see the same 4 in every case.

Just google 4 universal gun rules. Sampling:

She's welcome to quiz me on gun safety if she likes.

I think she's spent too much time teaching the test, and not enough teaching the students.

What does she know that she could quiz you?

In that case, you badly failed to provide any coherent response at all. The standard is not your idea of what are toys and what aren't. Just because you classify an item as a "toy", doesn't mean that people who own or use those items do so in an inherently unsafe manner. One does not logically follow from the other.

Yours was an incredibly stupid argument, but at least it's now in the garbage where it belongs.
Facts are facts. I am sorry you don’t like them. I am not saying that you in particular are unsafe with your guns. I am responding to the OP which asks a question. The answer to which is because most people who purchase guns do so for recreation. Objects purchased for recreation in the U.S. have a clear an obvious statistical bad safety record. Ergo that is why the average gun owner is unsafe with their weapons. You have not done anything except whine and cry about the underlying facts. You have done nothing to disprove the those facts. I am sorry you feel so vehemently opposed to simple facts. That is an issue with you not with the facts.

Can I please see that definition? My horse isnt a toy.

I walk my Malinois dog with friends, he's not a toy.

I skydive...my parachute isnt a toy.
I am not here to be your secretary. Find and OED and look it up. As stated the definition is an object. I wouldn’t classify your dog, your friends or your horse as an object. Your parachute…unless you are professional parachutist would be a toy.
