Why is the average firearm owner, an unsafe gun owner?

Explain why not. In detail.

You mean apart from the law ?

"In Gwinnett County, Georgia, gun storage laws primarily focus on preventing unauthorized access, especially by children. This means that gun owners must store firearms unloaded, locked, and separate from ammunition when not in use, and they are prohibited from leaving guns accessible to minors."

That's a question of someone who knows absolutely nothing about guns
I trust that you will find out the answer before you get you first gun.

If police officers aren't expected to properly take care of their guns, if guns are the number one killer of children in the US,
They aren’t so stop repeating this lie.
if an NRA instructor doesn't know how to properly handle firearms
All the instructors can handle firearms just fine.
, then all of these incidents point towards one conclusion, gun owners just don't know how to responsibly use firearms.
Maybe by the scaredy cat definition.

Hmm.
Please explain the law. I don’t have minors in my home.
Please explain how I am unsafe if I have my firearm locked in a gun safe with its ammunition.

By the way your google search wasn’t a citation of Georgia county law like you quoted.

Google is as hard as understanding physical reality.

We literally can legislate and make people drive different speeds. Heck the number of trees in a neighborhood affects car speeds. It's completely rational to have policy that encourages people to act responsibly.

So roadside obstacles to increase the chances that any scofflaws who do rear their ugly heads might more easily dispatch themselves and any of their passengers along for the ride. So much for, "But the children!"

"Rational policy" 😆

"...when not in use.."

Geez. Are least read the portions of your sources you directly quote.

If the Easter Bunny is a mass murderer. If Joe Biden is lucid. If fire will freeze foods, if democrats have IQ's above 50...

But none of this is real, and rational people must deal in reality.

So gun owners are being responsible with their firearms when they use it on themselves?

Those who seek to commit suicide will. The means is not the act. The use of suicide as a vector in firearm violence is disingenuous and outright dishonest.

I mean listen I know what you're getting at but sources 1,2,3 in the OP all deal with this post. Please let me know when you've looked at them.

This post is dishonest, meant to attack civil rights as part of the desire by the left to establish an autocratic dictatorship. Armed proles are an impediment to the goal.

Not to mention the idea that four unsubstantiated generalizations support an even broader generalization.

Science education must have been especially rigorous in the school where she taught.

Not only are the graduates steeped in innumeracy, they might sit around attempting to solve logical puzzles by observing the random fall of chicken bones.

Mine have, but my dogs haven't. What's your point?

It was your example...you tell me.

Reread my honest response.

I can see that you're just trying to escape now. Your nonsense above makes that clear. It's just dishonest. Let me know if you have anything of value to debate....

Shooting sports are just that sports for recreation. Unless you are professional shooter which the number is infinitesimal. I used to shoot for recreation too. Loved me some turkey soots at our local Wurstmarts. Also did a lot of target shooting. All recreational meaning I was using my guns as toys.
So what? Why don’t imagine this is relevant, or in any way an argument?

that's funny stuff right there !!

a Right is what the US Constitution grants me as a citizen .... and the 2nd is clear. I also have a Right to defend myself in the USA, the Constitution and SC ruling have over and over shown guns are my Right to use

don't talk Rights to me unless you're really serious about them

Why do you keep lying about this? Motor vehicles is the #1 cause of death among children in the US.

Why do you keep lying about this? Motor vehicles is the #1 cause of death among children in the US.

the thing is, cars were the #1 involved method of kids dying for every year for decades .... liberals didn't try and ban them

when the #2 involved method shifted to guns? national news, every anti-gunner wanted to use it as a reason

regardless, guns never kill anyone - people USE guns .... like people use cars

Except for those that don't, or those that we can influence. It's not dishonest to say that 40% of people who commit suicides in the US will use a firearm to do it. And we know one of the best ways to prevent firearm suicides is means protection. So if gun owners aren't safely storing their firearms, then it's harder to stop firearms from being used for suicide.

If your civil rights means being irresponsible with firearms, then those rights shouldn't be used or had. The argument you're making isn't one for liberty, it's the argument on behalf of the dictator who looks at the US and says "look at what they're doing with their freedom, they can't even go to school without fear of mass shooting. Aren't you better off being in my dictatorship where you can go to school without fear of being shot"?

Honestly I have no clue what you're doing with this post.

Pretty much yeah. That causes them to slow down their car so they don't go about hitting things that might pop out at them.

The Scatty Kitty definition is in the OP. You just don't store your firearms safely.

What a silly statement. They "know," we all know. And "storage and access" isnt even "using" firearms.

The 4 universal rules of gun safety are simple and gun owners "know" them. They're not hard to remember or understand.

Make an argument and stick wiith it. But "knowing" and "being responsible" are 2 completely different things.

2nd rule:
"By treating every firearm as if it is loaded, a habit of safety is developed. Firearms should be loaded only when you are in the field or on the target range or shooting area, ready to shoot. Whenever you handle a firearm, or hand it to someone, always open the action immediately, and visually check the chamber, receiver and magazine to be certain they do not contain any ammunition. Always keep actions open when not in use. Never assume a gun is unloaded — check for yourself! This is considered a mark of an experienced gun handler!"

2nd source from OP:
Up to 43% of U.S. households store their guns loaded, according to a new study released Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

So guess what, the average firearm owner, or at least, a vast number of them do not know the 2nd universal rule of gun safety.

Listen I'm going to put this mildly. If you think gun ownership is just about firing the gun it's not. It's also the maintenance that goes into the gun. It's about making sure the firearm is safe for family. If you think not knowing how to store a gun isn't part of 'using a gun', then you're just wrong and should seriously consider how you use guns.

1. Just to point out that doesn’t MAKE people responsible for, it simply punishes those who are not. ( or really those that get caught)

When you drive are the vast najority of drivers doing the speed limit or less. Or are the vast majority doing some level above the speed limit?

It's not making people responsible... to make them drive the speed limit....by not even using a spec of force on them?

I mean if driving the speed limit is the responsible thing to do, and more trees lower their speed limit.... then yes we can make people more responsible. I'm sorry but what kind of medical professional are you exactly who doesn't realize he can change how people behave?

Wtf are you talking about?
Most people don’t drive the speed limit.
So it’s pretty clear that speed limit law isn’t making them more responsible.
