As for what causes the illness it could be a genetic abnormality as I understand a lot of trans kids show problems early in child hood. And i an lm sure its multiplied by like experiences.
I do not think any one would deny that.
I do not approve of trans .I am ok with lesbians and gay men .

I have family that are and friends and dated a bi girls before which occasionally had nice bonus .

Tran is just not natural.
And its not so much I am against it but its like religion in you believe or not either way you do not want it pushed on you or flung in your face .

Gender affirming transition and transition is the same thing. It's living full time (24/7 )in your identified gender, usually after you have legally changed your name and been on hormones for a year or more. That often includes voice lessons and often facial/body hair removal as well. It is usually considered a psychological test before your Dr/surgeon and psychologist will recommend you for bottom surgery. Many psychologists also want monthly counseling sessions to address any mental health issues and to make sure that your mental health is not decling or other issues arent developing. There are also regular blood tests at 90 days and then 6 moths after that for homone levels and liver health.

Then there is the possibly of facial feminzation surgery and breast augmentation, among other cosmetic surgeries.

If a person uses they/ them pronouns then that usually suggests that they are not transgendered but instead are non-binary or gender fluid. They may or may not take hormones or legally change their name. Very seldom will they have bottom surgery. Its more of a social transition with clothes and different haircut/grooming. They tend to appear more androgynous. Their sexual orientation can be anything.

For some people who are NB this could be just a first gradual step toward full transitioning or maybe this is all their gender dysphoria levels need to be satisfied.

There are some people who claim to be transgender but who never fully transition. They might take low doses of HRT or maybe they can't because of medical reasons or their job. There are no absolutes. The entire gender process is customized to meet the requirements and the level of gender dysphoria that each client experiences. Some may start for a few months and stop because its not for them. Many older trans patients are married and their relationship with a spouse or kids limits how far they want to or are willing to go.

This is all discussed as part of the initial diagnosis and then the treatment plan that the Drs and psychologist create individually for each patient. There is no one transition protocol for everyone. Any Dr or psychologist who tells a patient that there is, you should run away from.

Not much. They can't stop the process and they cant force a child or teen to do anything. CPS would become involved immediately.

That is assault, kidnapping, malpractice and child abuse. The patient must to come to them completely willingly. Teens usually are tested to prove that they are mentally and intellectually capable of making informed treatment decisions.

I thought we had established that nonbinary/genderfluid/genderqueer comes under the transgender umbrella. I believed I linked a wiki, but here's another source:

Given this information, was the person in the OP transgender during the pronoun change? I can provide more sources if neccesary.
