No, but making it harder for a segment to vote by eliminating days that are convenient to vote is.
There seems to have been an occasion or two.FBI Arrested and Convicted 52 DEMOCRATS of Voter Fraud |
If you're a Democrat I can understand why you would be against voter ID.
I didn't post that it was fraudulent. I just believe that we, as a country, have established a voting day and it should be observed. A lot can happen in the three to four weeks before an election. It could be a 24 hour period to accommodate all work schedules...
They were caught... NOT A PROBLEM! LOL!
And just to add some context (from a more reputable source)...
Voter ID laws: A state-by-state map reveals how much voter fraud there is in the United States—almost none. - Slate Magazine
Good evening, AP. :2wave:
:agree: Maybe it's just me, but I have found that the busiest people always find time to vote, and don't need a four-week window to do so! I realize that there are many who can't vote on Election Day...business travel, vacation, scheduled surgery, and so forth...but that's why I thought they allowed absentee mail-in ballots. And if it's convenient to vote early, what makes it inconvenient to vote on Voting Day? :?:
A more reputable source?? You mean those names, photos and charges have been fabricated? They were caught... NOT A PROBLEM! LOL!

The voter ID laws primarily affect minorities and the elderly.
The voter ID laws primarily affect minorities and the elderly.
But there has been little to no cases of voter fraud. How do we depend on something that does not exist?
You are INCORRECT about [the fact] what she alluded to wasn't about race. That's exactly what she was throwing out and will continue to be one of her platforms for her POTUS run. Count on it.
Sorry, did I get her IDENTITY wrong. Maybe she's just a mere Liberal who doesn't reach the level of Progressive? How would I know?
And suing the state of North Carolina is not? Wouldn't it be far simpler for her to correct her name, which she will have to do anyway?92-Year-Old Who Once Faced Literacy Tests Sues North Carolina Over New Wave Of Voter Suppression | ThinkProgress
When Rosanell Eaton was 21 years old and living in segregated North Carolina, she became one of the first African Americans in her county registered to vote, after successfully completing a literacy test that required her to recite the preamble to the Constitution. But now, at 92 years old, she faces new obstacles under the voter suppression law signed by Gov. Pat McCrory (R) Monday. For one thing, she may not qualify for the voter ID card required under the new law, because the name on her birth certificate is different from the name on her driver’s license and voter registration card. Reconciling this difference will be a costly and time-consuming administrative endeavor. For another, she has participated in early voting since it was instituted in the state. Now, it’s been cut back a week.

She can still vote early, and she doesn't need a photo ID until the 2016 election. Should be enough time, don't you think?
She is a registered voter in the state of North Carolina who has a history of voting in the state, she should not be required to do anything other than what she has always done which is to sign her name when she votes. And suing the state of North Carolina is not? Wouldn't it be far simpler for her to correct her name, which she will have to do anyway?
I feel for her, but she will have to comply with the law. Everyone else will have to. Those filing suit on her behalf should be easily able to assist her in correcting her documents. She is a registered voter in the state of North Carolina who has a history of voting in the state, she should not be required to do anything other than what she has always done which is to sign her name when she votes.
You feel for her? I seriously doubt that.I feel for her, but she will have to comply with the law. Everyone else will have to. Those filing suit on her behalf should be easily able to assist her in correcting her documents.
Her history is compelling. Why would you doubt that of anyone regarding this? I would gladly offer her a dispensation, but our laws don't work like that, and for good reason. I bet that if the situation was explained to her as a matter of equal treatment, she would agree too.You feel for her? I seriously doubt that.
Yeah right, that is what you progressives continually tell yourselves..... ACORN was disenfranchised for a reason you know... Oh, if it matters I'm from the land of voter fraud - Chicago.
So don't even try to tell me about anything...
I'm sure the typical rural or "suburban farm boy" finds what I have to say far fetched but you can bet your corn that it's absolutely fact and our government is absolutely this ****ed up....
You feel for her? I seriously doubt that.
Because in your mind you hate blacks. I didn't say they were the only ones. But blacks and the elderly overwhelmingly are early voters and they vote for democrats.
The voter ID laws being passed in conservative red states with large black populations are based on race. Everybody knows it and everybody knows the conservatives deny it, including the conservatives denying it.
Let's just go with "statist", it's too much of a bother sorting out communists, socialists, Marxist, etc... They all want the same thing. Control and suppression of the people.
Now, what does Hillary care about, and the democrats?
First, they couldn't give a hoot about voter ID laws.
They know there will be almost no one that can legally vote that will not be able to vote because of these laws. Their concern is that those that are not eligible to vote won't be able to cast votes for democrats. That is it. It goes no further than that. You are a fool if you come on here and argue that they are concerned with the poor not being able to vote.
Its called Souls to the Polls. African Americans often go to church on Sunday then turn out to the polls in huge numbers. These are the folks that these NC politicians are trying to keep from making a difference.
Are you making the claim that people who go to Church on Sunday, and there are millions of them, won't be able to vote?
Horse****. The Republicans want to make sure as few poor people as possible vote. So they're willing to take a Big Government solution that doesn't even solve the problem it allegedly is supposed to address. Of the voter fraud that occurs, the vast majority wont be stopped by voter ID laws. Wonder why the righties aren't going after absentee ballots, where the majority of fraud occurs?
Oh, because absentee ballots swing a bit to the right.
