Why fundraise?

I can't think of one who neglected his presidential duties to fundraise? Also, can't think of one who didn't complain bitterly about fundraising and sought any excuse to avoid it? - except Obama in his second term?

Ooh there's the backpedal we all knew was coming :lamo

If you face no more elections, why fundraise?

because your party does?

Or, perhaps, there's a more sinister reason. Obama is a secret Muslim who will go and lead a Caliphate and take over the world, starting with the Middle East! Yeah, that's it. Has to be.

We are out of time. Nothing can happen in the next two years. And even if we could, then we end up with Biden.

What's wrong with a lame-duck Biden?

If the only reason to impeach was to punish, then one might argue to let it slide. The reason to impeach is to prevent future violations. Let this president get away with it and how can we hold future presidents to a different standard?

Why does Obama need funds? He's not running again? Hillary needed Bill's fundraising, but what is Obama doing with all that cash? What are his plans?

We expect our presidents to get off the stage after their terms are over. For the most part they have. Bill runs his mouth and keeps his hand in at Davos and other world-events, but he hasn't sought power, that we can tell. The retired Republican president's are model citizens, refusing to even comment on controversial and most non-controversial topics and certainly go nowhere near power or authority. Bush sr and Bush jr have other family members that are every bit as viable as Hillary, but they steer clear.

Obama's run the country like a banana republic, from law-writing, to dictatorial proclamations, to lavish luxury. He's (apparently) used the power of his public office to persecute conservatives. The question is, will he continue his dictatorial ways and attempt to hold power and authority after he leaves office? Is that why he puts fundraising above running the country? More worried about future power than attending to his current responsibilities?

President Obama has held 393 fundraisers in his six years in office - The Washington Post

I do not remember Bill Clinton attending that may fund raisers. But that is probably because he didn't attend any like the morning after Benghazi or during a crisis even going on in the world.

Can someone point out a sitting president who didn't fundraise his entire term in office?

Carter had only 49 in his 4 years, but I couldn't find any info going back further.

Not so lame duck. He could run for re-election.
