you seem to be confusing what actually proves something. Trump doesn't have to prove he is not guilty (You seem confused-the duty is on the prosecution to prove guilt, defendants never have to prove innocence).
You also seem to believe that the findings of a democrat majority was based on objective proof, not political hackery.
and I will predict that when the Senate Refuses to remove Trump-you will complain that the decision is political, while you have been pretending that the Democrat house members' actions were not.
The impeachment process is what it is. You can complain all you want about it (and you do), but in the end everyone must follow it. If Trump and Republicans get to decide that the whole impeachment process is a sham and that they can disregard it and not take it seriously, then they are basically ignoring the Constitution and the rule of law.
Someone with your esteemed legal background, as you bragged about earlier, should know this. Yet, you keep trying to justify McConnell's behavior.
