I disagree. I can't imagine Trump sharing his scams with anyone except on a need to know basis. So I suspect he thinks Trump is guilty, has probably talked to the witnesses and been told something like "It would be really bad if I had to tell the truth about what happened" so he doesn't want to take any chances.
