Why does it matter whether or not a god is good?

If that is so, everything that goes through any change has transformed. Seems like a frivolous use of the word to me.

I have a similar problem with the words, good & evil. To me, all that 'good' means is enlightened and constructive, while 'evil' means ignorant and destructive. I don't subscribe to those words indicating moral superiority, which is a byproduct of an insecure ego.
