Why is it that anti Gun/anti concealed carry people think that carry is just about WHERE we are going? My case and the case of students is EXACTLY the reason why the argument about "need" in a particular place is stupid. It isn't always about the place. I can't carry into this particular building because it is against the law. And now I am resigned to walk through a scummy part of town without any form of protection but my fists. I can handle that. But I really for sorry for the young women who must leave all protection at the car when walking too and from work. Or school. I guess that is what Bloomberg and Mom's demanding action REALLY want. Unarmed victims that can be preyed upon by their REAL fans...criminals. Sigh. :sigh:

No crap. Thank you for stating that glaringly obvious statement. I gotta make money. Bills gotta be paid. Doesn't matter though. Doesn't change the fact that anyone against lawful carry of self defense weapons is ultimately on the side of criminals.

As I said I can handle myself. Jujitsu, boxing, mma, kali, and basic self defense. I've done it all. Plus some haganah (like krav...but not military oriented).

You mean feel good classes? Only in fantasy land does anyone believe that there was enough training to give tiny women the ability to fight large attackers. There is a reason weight classes exist in combat sports. And a reason men fight men.

I have a black belt in two different arts My son a TKD blackbelt, my wife a red belt in TKD. I know something about martial arts

guess what. Me, a 55 year old guy with bad knees and a knife is going to fillet most black belt masters in a matter of seconds. and some street wise gang banger who took graduate courses in street fighting in the Federal Correctional Institution with a knife is gonna be like the tasmanian devil in a china shop.

yeah martial arts work great against unarmed out of shape or lazy criminals looking for an easy score.

not so great against a guy wanting to rack up as many dead bodies as possible and is armed to the teeth

my son's sensei is a 5th dan TKD black belt. She's a 50 year old Korean lady who won lots of kata competitions and several sparring titles against other 115 pound women. My son asked how she would do say fighting me. She noted since I have training I'd just walk in and block her shots and if I laid a right cross on her or a left hook it would be over-same if I got her wrapped up. I also still have a pretty good front snap kick and since I weigh over 200 pounds it wouldn't be much of a fight

Oh yeah! Karate! Karate can teach you to catch bullets with your teeth and have muscles of steel that bend knives when people try to stab you with them. You can also take on a gang of people with just yourself and "karate". No, karate isn't just some dumb thing that teaches you parlor tricks like breaking boards and bending rebar. Ha, karate isn't even good at parlor tricks. Breaking ice and tearing a phone book is way cooler.
