Why didn't Donald make American great again?

Nobody wants to fix it except a few. we have become addicted to cheap goods from overseas. This will be our doom.
A non answer. I asked what's your beef with the Trade deficit and you ignored the question. More import6ant, why Trump if you're convinced he's an asshole?

Actually, some of the problems we had when Trump got into office are worse now, thanks to "I did that" Biden.
So Trump couldn't fix it.

But there are a few extenuating circumstances that affected Trump.
But excuses means that...Trump couldn't fix it.

1. Opposition from Congress. Remember McCain's "thumbs down"? Or Nancy's "NO!!!"?
That's how our system works. Not a surprise to anyone. So...Trump couldn't fix it.

2. Opposition from within his own executive branch.
See above. And of course that means...Trump couldn't fix it.

3. Impeachments, investigations, lawsuits, etc.
Yes. So...Trump couldn't fix it.

4. Simply not enough time. If his second term hadn't been stolen, he would have gotten a lot more done.
In four years he couldn't maga. So, if he managed to win again, we could expect, given another four years...Trump still couldn't fix it.

They are not excuses. They are reasons. And they all stem from the opposition Trump received from day one of his administration.
So what you are saying is that Trump couldn't fix it. Thank you.

He would likely get more opposition if he got a second term.
We can hope. America has crapped bigger than Donald Trump, but defeating his entitled and self-absorbed cult of personality requires a critical mass of Americans to stand up and say "Not again."

Buck doesn't stop with Trump as POTUS, we get it. Always the victim.
Victim as POTUS, Victim as a candidate, Victim when he bankrupts two casinos, victim when he lies about his charity and its shut down, victim when he tries to steal the 2020.

Vote for a criminal victim who will help corporate America, bad mouth everyone he doesn't like, help Putin as best he can, and ensure he grifts as much as possible from the presidency.

That's the MAGA pitch today.

Donald is a very stupid person. That's why.

By that I mean he wasn't able to thoughtfully consider workable options or listen to those who could help him execute evidence-based solutions.

His ideas were laughably worthless. Banning Muslims, injecting disinfectant, raking forests, shooting border intruders in the leg (if they got past his other idea - alligator moats), and of course nuking hurricanes.

Donald Trump is so far removed from the role of analyst/fixer that he's more like a toddler trying to get is yo-yo to yo-yo all by itself and blaming the guy who sold the yo-yo. "What do you mean I have to tie it on my finger....?"

He, of course, knows better than even experts, as he demonstrated in the Covid crisis.

A most frustrating mix of arrogantly always being right while at the time too arrogant to learn anything new....or even look.

He fixed every problem the same way, by claiming he did it. Which is exactly how he became so rich and powerful....by claiming he was rich and powerful. And he's 100% at convincing the most influential person in his life....himself. We're seeing how much he fooled himself in the trials and how rich he isn't.

Donald's onion is being pealed.......the tears are not far behind

The growth in the annual deficit under Trump ranks as the third-biggest increase, relative to the size of the economy, of any U.S. presidential administration, according to a calculation by a leading Washington budget maven, Eugene Steuerle, co-founder of the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center. And unlike George W. Bush and Abraham Lincoln, who oversaw the larger relative increases in deficits, Trump did not launch two foreign conflicts or have to pay for a civil war.

The combination of Trump’s 2017 tax cut and the lack of any serious spending restraint helped both the deficit and the debt soar.
Yes, under Trump. He was not the cause.

He tried to get a handle on it, but congress would not allow it.

The trade deficit is too big. Nearly a trillion dollar annual.

The tax cuts were a Trump policy. He even refers to them as the "Trump tax Cuts".

Small tax cuts do not hurt revenue. More money moves in the economy and it gets taxed to about the same amount.

Even you know that you don't have any evidence for this. And why are you referring to the tax cuts as "small?" Compared to what?

:unsure:And those two chambers opposed him.
The GOP held the majority of the two Houses in Congress during the first two years of President Trump term.

I expect you will say that does not matter because of the "elites" of the GOP opposed Trump, right?

What part of "those chambers opposed him" do you not understand?

They still do.

They still do.
And that's precisely why Trump lost to Biden. And why he's wrong for the role this time. Unless you think the solution is for Trump to get rid of those chambers. Is that it?

The sign of a good leader in a democracy is the ability to convince, and even arm twist sometimes, congress and other s who can help, to supporting their agenda.

That is what good leaders do.

Trump couldn't do that.

He is not a good leader.
