Why did Herschel admit that he's not smart and will get embarrassed in the debate??

That might be the weirdest ploy to get votes that I've ever seen. Or I guess he could be just lowering his own expectations so that if he answers one question correctly he looks like the champ?

Because he's not smart and is going to be embarrassed at the debate.

Even if you are not smart you still have a sense of direction, both for yourself and for your constituents. Smart, well versed people aren't always the answer, as we can clearly see in PA. So now that this guy is avoiding a debate, and because he is on the other side of that ever widening aisle, his lack of debate skills must be laughed about. Hypocritical.

Set up low expectations, so that if he loses it is not seen as a huge loss. Making the debate rather meaningless.

Really a good move for the debate
and the low expectations for him aren't just for the debate. he'll also have massively low expectations if he's elected.

Are real challenge for Warnock to not create sympathy for this poor, brain damaged man Trump has set up.

It would be wise for Warnock / Democrats to not play into that hand, go to the debate as planned and go with the talking points important to the issues.

Even if Walker is going about this in a risky way, this could backfire if the message from the Warnock camp is "Walker is a moron."

Tempting for Warnock to show up wearing a straw hat, bib overalls and bare feet.

Seriously, as you allude, he could mostly ignore Walker and talk about what he's for and what the GOP in general opposes.

As humorous as that would be, we agree on the risks. I can see Herschel getting stomped in the debates then turning around and claiming setup, Democratic arrogance, and ignoring the will and wants of the "common voter."

The most truthful thing he has said to date.

Because he's not smart and is going to be embarrassed at the debate.

Which of course is then going to give him a bump in the polls with the GOP base. So this is brilliant. The guy is playing four dimensional chess

He is not smart and yet, he will win the election in Georgia. You ask why he will win, because Trumpers love those who are not smart, makes them look smart.

No, makes them feel almost OK.

And yet...Walker is still leading in the polls.

Georgia, you disappoint.

"Vote for me -- I'm dumb and my opponent is really smart."

Could work, actually.

Probably because nobody has to be smart to own a leftist

That is what the stupid like to believe.

Dumb enough to think you owned someone while making a fool if yourself

Of course only the dumb would think owning someone is something great to achieve

Stick it to the libs

Imagine the lack of dignity it takes for a black man running for public office and in the party of white supremacy and counting on the white vote, to tell the electorate he's not very smart.

Its, like, just what they're looking for.
